Calling all Founders!

We've got a Main Event running this weekend just for you, so bring out your Founder 'Mech(s) this weekend and show us your Founder pride.

We'll have a fun Leaderboard and 'Kill Counter' Main Event just for Founders, along with a Personal Challenge where everyone can be a winner.

If Founders can get enough kills before the end of the Event they will get to choose which of the following three maps will receive the next pass in our map overhaul!

• Forest Colony
• Frozen City
• Alpine Peaks

That's right. If you haven't already heard, we are returning to the original maps and adding key features and upgrades to bring them up to a new standard. Work is already underway on River City.

These updates may include:

• Dynamic Time of Day
• Weather
• DropShip integration into non-CW game modes (still under a 'single spawn' system)
• Map design improvements (size, geometry, and layout)
• Physics objects that react to collisions (such as trees and lamp posts)

A Founders Only poll will be held after the Event, during which time Founders will be given the chance to cast a vote for which map we will update next!

Future map update release dates are TBD, but the update of River City has a targeted release date of June 16th!

Kill Counter

Get a Kill while piloting a Founder 'Mech to contribute to the Kill Total.

• 50,000 kills

Reaching the Kill Goal will unlock a Founders Only poll on the forums once the Event is over.

Personal Challenge

Anyone can participate, and there are no 'Mech restrictions!

Simply earn a minimum 30 Match Score in Assault, Skirmish, or Conquest to earn 1 Personal Challenge Point.

Unlock prizes at the 5,10, 15, and 20 Point tiers

• 5 points = 5x C-bill Consumable Pack
  
• 10 points = 1000 GXP (Founders also receive an additional Founders Cockpit Hanging Medallion of their Founder level.)
  
• 15 points = 2 Million C-Bills (Founders also receive an MWO Standing Cockpit Mug)
  
• 20 points = Hula Girl! (Founders also receive an Island Standing Cockpit Item)
  

All Personal Challenge prizes are awarded as the points are achieved!

Founder Leaderboards

Scoring

• You must play a Founder 'Mech to participate.
• Only your best 10 matches over the course of the Event will be counted
• Only Solo matches will be counted for these game modes: Assault, Skirmish, and Conquest
• Private matches and Community Warfare matches DO NOT count!
• Score Formula (note the use of the new reward system)
• (Solo Kill x 30) + (Kill Most Damage x 20) + (Killing Blow x 10) + ( Kill Assist x 10) + (Win × 10) + (Loss × 5) + (Survive × 10) + (Dead × 5) + ((Damage done - Team Damage) ÷ 15)
• 1st Tie-Breaker: Number of Matches Played (Fewer is better)
• 2nd Tie-Breaker: Team Damage (Less is better)
• All Leaderboard prizes are awarded at the end of the event!
• Participation is based on the 'Mech you use and your Founder Level

I think this is a sad plea to Founders. I mean, they should be playing the game, but aren't for many/various (and generally legitimate) reasons... so while I don't necessarily care (I'm not a Founder, so I have no say), this feels sad.

Plus, this is happening during Mother's Day weekend... which feels somewhat inappropriate/bad.

I would've like to have seen MORE Founders stick around than those that are only dedicated to this game.

Not quite sure if anyone else will agree, but I think The Founders should have a more direct and non-restrictive say far more often on more diverse elements within the game that have serious implications on the future of the game.

Just my opinion.

Really wished I could have given PGI my money instead of having IGP pretty much screw everyone else in MWT over.

Neat, a Founder's Only Event. I'm not a Founder, so I'm a bit bummed, but it's nice of PGI to recognize the Founders. That being said, I still think it's funny that anyone would buy any Founder's Package for any game anywhere. Those typically prove to be disappointments. Still, it's good of PGI to make an effort for them now.

So, founders have to "tolerate" our old favorites for a weekend, and ...
- get 50,000 kills to unlock a vote to revamp a map ... cool ... you're already working on River City ... even better!
- get 20 "good games" (in any 'mech) to get another Island cockpit trinket? ... easy peasy
- a "best 10 matches" leaderboard for founders 'mechs (with prizes for the top 50) ... sweet

So since we are now excluding the rest of the community to get FOUNDERS to play a game they FUNDED...

Will the next event also be Clan Wave 1 buyers only? Or Resistance Buyers only? I don't get how this is a good idea but that wouldnt be the first time. Why not give Founders that kinda say all the time?

I Dont see how this makes anyone look better or saves face? Just reassures us that the Founders are in fact NOT playing.

Im glad they have not forgot about you Founders....i sure have not! I feel bad for ya's i really do.


BUT on a lighter note, this is another step in the right direction. Dont let anyone slip away and keep those founders happy!

Veteran Founders didn't get mechs, so it isn't really calling them all now is it?

Mother's Day.....LOL. Just some more made up **** to sell cards.

I am thinking about using my Founder's Atlas for this event. I will have to get two others and GXP them up though. I left during closed Beta and didn't come back until after the clan release so have zero actual drops (I guess CB had no stats) in any IS 'mech.

I read this as they are going to look at these maps anyway but the founders are going to get to choose which is next on the list.
