Standing close to an obstruction or object while in MWO and using JumpJets while standing still will give your Mech some forward thrust while slowing elevating your Mech inch by bloody inch. Sometimes these surfaces you've pressed yourself up against while trying to use JJs to move over/around/whatnot are not flush or smooth and have an uneven surface.
My experience, and this is from Lights to Mediums to Heavies, is that you need to make sure you have; 1 enough JJs, 2 enough JJ fuel, 3 enough clearance to make it over/around/whatnot obstruction. Sometimes when you get this stuttering effect because you're on the verge of becoming stuck on map geometry, it magically lets you go and you suffer collision damage due to the "fall" you've just taken.
My word of advice... stop jump humping the map and avoid areas where you've encountered this in the past. Also... take a screenshot (Print Screen button) and file a support ticket to the Devs... but hit F9 before you take that screenshot... it grabs the coordinates of where you are on the map which makes it easier for the Devs to determine if it's a pilot/Mech error, or map error.
You wrong here buddy.... This scrap happens to the Commando and most recently for me in a Locust...
And we know how many JJs those mechs have. (0 JJs for the unaware)..
MWO movement code/netcode has always be sCRAPPY...
In the past we used to have much more problems eg.. getting stuck on slopes, two mechs getting fused together..
Fortunately it happens much less nowadays..
Now being the problem is their introduced fall damage when they had the scrappy problem...
The ones most badly affected by the max fall damage bug..... Fast non JJ lights...
