We need another 40 tonner and there isn't one that i'd want more than the Vulcan.
It has unique aesthetics; It looks nothing like any other mech
It has enough variants, included one with Star League tech (VT-5M)
It also comes with jumpjets

TimberWolf - Bounty Hunter:
A variant used by the infamous Bounty Hunter, it mounted a Large Pulse Laser and a Medium Pulse Laser in each arm. It also had a Medium Pulse Laser in both the left and right torso with a clan Light TAG in the center torso. A Light Active Probe, ECM suite, and a Targeting Computer provided stealth and increased accuracy. It's painted all green with credit symbols.

For long range combat, an ER PPC backed up by a Large Pulse Laser mounted in each arm. For close combat, the Widowmaker carries three ER Medium Lasers, an ER Small Laser, and an Ultra Autocannon/20.

I like the details shoulders and the spot where the legs attach.
I could rebuild that detail from the Sunder or the Battle Cobra over
Would love to find a stock library on TinkerCAD of the weapons?
Not bothering with those at this point.
Thanks for the input.

I looked at this one and passed on it due to lack of variants? I do like the look.
There are a ton of mechs I would love to see in game or own.
So far it looks like we will not see anything without at least 4-5 variants?
How hard would it be for the average Joe to write up a story with odd mechs and push it out there?
Becoming part of canon is the issue?

Yep. Why I am not wasting time on this one.
Just wondering if we have enough player base in MWO and Battletech board games to leverage a buyout?
Create some sort of Battletech community owned project?
Owning things just to own them does not make any sense to me.
If you allow them to be used for a "reasonable" fee?
If the community owned it all then we could do a lot of cool stuff.

I like the look of the legs. Do not like the arms. Head and Torso just like an Uber Urbie?
Kinda cool mech.
Hey with the "quirks" system we could tweak for massive energy based platform.
This is great "Zippo Mark X Anti-Personnel Flamer"
Look Ma I got me a Zippo

I think you nailed an IS package.
If the Assassin was not so ugly. Small redo to make it a little bit more pleasing to the eye?
Pillager and Perpetrator both look cool and seem to be armed up well.
Javelin kind of an odd short torso, still like it.

I think Harmony Gold originally wanted to extract licensing fees but FASA basically said lol no after they lost their court case and just removed all the unseen. MWO could use the reseen models or create their own that "resembles but is legally distinct" from the macross models. However, HG is known for suing anyone who makes a mech that looks vaguely like something from macross so I highly doubt that anything that will be distinct enough for HG will satisfy the player base.
As for buying out the property... we'd be talking millions since they have distribution rights in perpetuity not to mention the IP troll money they stand to make. Since the battletech player base isn't exactly large I doubt we could come up with that kind of scratch.
