Had one of these today where my team suffered like a 7-12 loss, but I laughed at the end anyway. Our last guy was an Atlas who had been rendered down to stick status, and spent three and a half of the remaining five minutes of the match sluggishly chasing the entire enemy formation for an honorable death as they ineffectually searched for him. He managed to take a shortcut and head them off, and even then the first guy walked right past him, completely oblivious to the giant smoking heap of metal standing to his immediate left as he passed. I couldn't help but think to myself, "How did we lose to these guys?" And then the confused enemy turned around, fired off a bunch of weapons in a panic, and then murdered the beaten and broken Atlas as it tried to hump his leg.

It was pretty hilarious to watch those dudes in the all chat like "where is he?" while ours responded, "he's right behind you! he's chasing you! Atlas! AAAAATLAAASSS!" And then they still didn't turn around.

Had an Orion do that to me on my first 1000+ damage round with a BLR. It was a very close battle that came down to a 2v2 brawl. The Orion became a stick and my sidekick was killed. I killed the dangerous enemy and started looking for the Orion, not realizing he was a stick (This all took place on Tourmaline). He stuck to me like a fly to fly paper, ducking to the side every time I turned around. I finally heard his footfalls when I stopped suddenly as he also tried to mimic my stop, so I spun around and plugged him. For about a full minute though, he managed to stay in my shadow, lol.

Hehe... back in CB when we had "predator vision" that vision mode was so incredibly overpowered that many if not most players stayed in that the entire match. We got wiped hard in a team match, and our last player said kind of jokingly that every one of the other team was probably in heat vision - so he shut his raven down. Not in a corner or anything - but right out in the open in the clearing near the forest colony radar tower. At least 4 enemy players passed by him within spitting distance as we spectated and the timer ran out. They never found him... Pure comedy gold.

I wound up doing that in a COM 1B once. Lost my guns and ran out of missiles, so I just stopped in the middle of the road from the cave to the lower base, which was the enemy one coincidentally, and powered down to await my death. They never did figure out that I wasn't dead. That's actually pretty close to where your friend "hid."
