We can all agree that most players who have enough intelligence to not stick food up their nose can handle a little mech slowdown right?
Therefore I suggest that mech slowdown from heat put into game.
Features:
Decreased maxed speed,
decreased torso twist speed
decreased arm movement speed
Decreased acceleration
Decreased deceleration
Decreased turn rate
Penalities would get progressively higher as the mechs overall heat increases beyond a certain point, ~ 50% for example, and increaing at 75% and 85%. But rather then set levels a more elegant solution of having penalty = (max penalties/50) * (current heat - 50) if > zero, so that penalites equally distribute from heat.

Also would like to point out that now that masc is in, half the infrastructure for the behavior is in the game already. You would just be tacking on negative values instead of positive values.

I'd like those in anway, but the problem is none of those do much fo high alpha strikes that the scale makes less common, ex. the 4 PPC, 6~8 LL , 2xac20 with no definite "you will shut down or take 30 sec before you cool down to do it again" thing in would again come back in a bad way as nothing beats near instant gib... so we'd need something else to limit the alphas...

Yeah I agree... but that is no excuse to not have them in.
