Will there be a training mode/Map in the game like other online gameas have?? That would greatly help people so they dont have to get in game and get killed while learning game play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't know yet. Since there is no known AI, I wouldn't count on it.

I wouldn't even need AI. Just a rock to shoot at and some space to run would be good enough.

Yeah, should be something, even just knock down targets and some various skill tests like using jump jets and the like.

How about a "shoot rocks" mode so the repair and ammo bills won't be so high.

Well depending on how matchcreation works, If pleyers aore the ones who set up and start matches, then you could just make a match and start it before anyone joins... Or maybe set up a match with people who all agree to train on rocks... But that requires some trust. If you are part of a clan you might be able to set that up more easally.

They could have a Virtual Arena like other games, nothing would count for/against you "if" they implemement K/D and W/L ratios and no cost for repairs when you finally blow up.

Yeah as long as theres some open space with targets, people can learn the basics, from aiming to torso twists and moving and shooting etc.

I think you can expect that at least, an AI hmmm not so much. But who knows, maybe ^^

Having a training area or map where you could fight 4vs4 against a basic AI to see how your tactics work would be interesting, but they have time to come up with that later.

Mech 15 - Rock

Thraddock had always hated his mech, ever since boot-camp all those years ago when he had humiliated the instructor in-front of the other recruits, he felt the brass had it in for him.

He'd applied for Assault training. Hell - even scout training would have done, but this? It simply wasn't fair.
No weapons, no armour, and no legs - No way.
As the latest set of recruits lined up at the other end of the training-yard and took aim, he once again considered putting in for a transfer...

Just a basic solo map to putz around in is a must IMO. Gotta have some way of testing out your mechlab creations, and I don't really want to see people on my team who haven't even had a chance to figure out the controls yet.

Ideally I'd like to see something like the Armored Core games with a small training map where you could spawn various enemy types with basic configurations and AI to try stuff out.

I'm sure they will include some kind of tutorial or blank practice mode to learn controls with. What game doesn't?

I hope the instructor for these next generation kids is exactly like the one I had back in the day. "Shoot me even once and I'll tear that beer can you call a Mech into scrap."(And if you were stupid enough to hit him even once by accident, he would blow you away) He later said "If you die try to scream a lot... that way I'll know I'm on my own." Good times.

Who needs AI for what most ppl want. Im sure the devs can introduce 'the rock' into an open map with no AI just so we can get used to controls. 'The rock' would be optional though. No damage to other mechs or it defeats its purpose. Its to train so that infers no damage dealing and no damage taking, and above all no ammunition costs or repairs. Afterall JJing sounds like if done improperly can cause damage to a mech. Training area is a must!

Rock knowledge is necessary. Skilled use of BFR's and LFR's is an asset to the team.
