ever since the game's been patched there's been a noticeable decrease in the damage output of the AWS8R using SRMS per ton of srm ammo.

please make the hardpoints cluster like it did before, it's what made the mech good. now emptying 3.5 tons of ammo only nets around 600 dmg total, it's completely unfair - the srm 8r has been dealt a huge negative impact from a patch that was supposed to be aesthetic only! please - this is very important that you fix this! the srm 8r is one of the good awesome and fun there is to play

some of the damage has dissapeared in this patch!!

Yup. It's utter trash.

The missiles have gone from "ugly cardboard box with a lousy decal" to "random decals slapped all over the mech." There's no logic to any of it - the 9M and/or the Pretty Baby actually now have missiles somehow firing from the armor plate on the left shoulder - and the mech is weaker as a result.

They also mounted the 2nd torso energy hardpoints LOWER than the first ones, because apparently the Awesome needed another nerf... so lets move the weapons so far down that they are practically falling out of the torso.

So, now we have a mech that still looks ugly (just in a different way) and which is objectively worse than it was before. GG, close, PGI.

Imho the Awesome is one of the best looking Assaults - it only has bad hardpoint placement and barndoor hitboxes (when they work again).

i appreciate what you tried to do pgi by making the hardpoints be higher up you can expose less of the body to shoot, that much is nice - but in doing so you have spread out the launchers on a mech whose only redeeming quality was having the tightest srm cluster in the inner sphere, and made it useless as now artemis spreads like pre-patch non artemis.
this is really really bad and i have to assume it is unintended because this update wasn't about balancing anything, please put the srm launchers next to each other on each side, it doesn't matter if they go lower; or just default the 8r back to it's old model i beg you!!!!

350 missiles + some ppc shots fired shouldn't sum up to 600 at the best case scenario - a best case scenario should be 800 for this setup to what it was before, and the damage doesn't add up now..

this is breaking the game for me, if i can't use my favorite ride then using the others doesn't feel as good either. i could be shooting lasers which is fun but i know srms are broken, hope you can do something about this

Bah... they turned the missiles into a scattered skin disease across the mech and thus wrecked SRM grouping, and then they have the nerve to LOWER the 2nd energy torso hardpoint. It's like they were trying to nerf the worst assault mech in the game. Insanity...

well i hope they understand how bad this is;

if they keep the hardpoints like this and improve the hitboxes/geometry like they wanted, then what's the point? it would be like a bad victor... the awesome is supposed to be a glass canon that makes crippling shots for just 80 tons of mass.
compared to the victor and the zeus, that's it's job. let it do it's job, don't try and make up for this blunder by making 'really good redesign' of the hitboxes. PLEASE DONT - it will be a bad idea.
just give it back the good hardpoint placement it had (hah, """good""") and tweak the hitboxes just enough that it will survive a bit more.

this patch is killing the mech :( hope they solve this soon. i'd rather they removed the quirks completely but let me have the old launchers back

well there has been a new development:

Posted Image

it seems the 8V now has a new feature; it now matters in which order you load the launchers in, the launcher at the top of the list will be the launcher on the shoulder, while the bottom 2 are where the old hardpoints used to be.

it seems they made a bit of an oversight in making the standard launchers for the 8r at the top, when they could have been done like the launchers on this one, which is what would be best for gameplay -

please if anything give the 8r launchers like the bottom 2 of this picture on both sides, it will restore the mech

8r desperately needs it.

thank you

I doubt they understand or care.

Serious effort went into the mistakes made here - scattering the launchers like a skin disease and lower the 2nd energy hardpoint. And those decisions reflect absolutely zero understanding of what makes mechs viable in the game, which includes things like missile grouping and high hardpoints.

The Awesome was bad before this wretched series of changes, and now it is objectively weaker than it was before, and it still looks like crap, too.

Oh, and I like how they apparently added the "launcher order matters" bug to the 8V. Seriously, guys?! Wow...
