I wrote this allready before but forgot to mention the most important part of the feature suggestion ^^

My suggestion is simple:

make a standard match like play button in the faction tab.

You let the matchmaker search for a match as a GRUNT DROP or you pick planet to attack/defend manually as normal,it´s then called SPECIAL UNIT DROP (all explained below)

GRUNT DROP: You play standard maps with standard game modes randomly (maybie?)
===========================MISSING SUGGESTION=============================

(thats the improtant part ^^)
You get dropped in matches automaticly by pressing GRUNT DROP match launch button
without choosing a planet.
You get assigned on planets only relevant for your current faction.
If you get an attack or defend planet is randomized cause you get a slot where it is needed
(dont have to tell you how standard pug drops work)
To defend another house against clans you need to drop as a SPECIAL UNIT

===========================MISSING SUGGESTION=============================

SPECIAL UNIT DROP: You play Invasion game mode aka CW as it is right now (you have respawns, bases etc.)
(maybie it´s better to keep invasion mode only for both drop types cause it woud interfer with one another
i fear ^^)
SPECIAL UNIT DROPS counts 20(?)x more to planet control as a GRUNT DROP. (So SPECAIL UNIT DROPS have
a great impact for planet occupation)
Planet slots have to be increased then to make it work properly with said match system and higher player numbers.
Team and solo players mixed servers in CW is then a must.

This way pug players coud also join CW and the fight for the galaxy and their desired faction.
Believe me, it woud be awesome to have the planets populatet and the borders contestet day and night how it shoud be. ;)
