ShadowCat and SRMs.

The width of the arms makes it a bit difficult to aim, so if you're not good with leading SRMs, i suggest Streaks.

Even if you try facehugging them you'll miss.

That is all. :D

After all this time trying to make it viable, I think I'm just gonna turn the shadow cat into a lurm boat

which, combined with everything else, is just one more reason the Scat is an offensive underperformer. Love it too much otherwise to give up just yet, but the firepower part is getting a tad frustrating.

The ppc poptart isn't terribly bad... Neither is running a single gauss with 4 tons of ammo. But this is a mech that really needs to be played like a light, covert and quick

Yes. And I do that in my VND, Urbanmech, etc. Individual success on individual match is still proof of nothing.

This posts sound so familiar. Bishop you already have a forum fire burning on this topic. I believe this is about hard-point placement and convergence not payload capacity.

I find it is best to avoid lights and go for bigger targets when running Splat builds anyway. Just use your jump jets and masc to avoid the enemy's firing arc and chain fire or alternate fire groups for disruption effect. This seams to work well for my summoner splat build (minus the masc)

It's definitely not a bad lurm boat, for a 45-tonner. I ran a 3xLRM10 build for about 10 matches, it was quite good. It definitely punches above its weight. But it's not really great either. The MASC and 6 jump jets aren't really optimal for a lurm boat, so it's effectively wasted a lot of the time.

I wonder if NARC+2xLRM15 would be more fun than 3xLRM10.

Yeah, the Shadowcat is most certainly the Summoner 2.0, only this time with less armor so there is less wiggle room for mistakes. PGI could have thrown a single Clan mech a bone and overinflated the weapons allotment like they do with every single Inner Sphere mech, but anyway, I'm having fun with the Shadowcat. I just realize it's a new Summoner and take it for what it is. I'm and old school Centurian, Shadow Hawk, Griffin pilot, so this mech and the Summoner fit right into my play style.
