How to disable the spoken warnings like "Heat sink destroyed, heat sink destroyed, heat sink destroyed, heat sink destroyed, medium laser destroyed, medium laser destroyed, medium laser destroyed, medium laser destroyed, medium laser destroyed, medium laser destroyed, medium laser destroyed, medium laser destroyed" ?

I'd like to have warnings for heat, ammo and damage etc but not in a spoken way. Asimple bleeb will do. Has anywone experience editing the soundfiles in the game to replace the speech messages?

Some people have created sound packs in the past, such as one that turns all sounds to "pew" or one that makes all the sounds get replaced by MW2 ones, but I've never seen one that shuts up betty.

You could ask, I doubt anyone's interested though.

There is an option to turn her off completely in settings. Go settings -> audio and turn down the dialog volume slider all the way. Unfortunately it's all or nothing.

I keep mine at about 30%, for a quieter Betty.

I don't mind the volume, but I don't need the laundry list and would prefer a more limited option. "Shut up, Betty, I know what was in the arm" is something everyone who's played with me is tired of hearing.

I'll just turn the voice volume down then.

Post editing a video, sure. But kinda it. Since if someone can edit the sounds, they could do things like make mechs that much louder... or change textures so that everything is bright red. We can't have nice things because people...are people.

It might be possible to convince someone at PGI to patch in something to allow external sound files for the UI. Many games have a moddable UI and while PGI probably won't ever make a fully moddable UI because of the amount of money they spent on the current one, this one thing should be easy enough to do without risking making the client easier to hack. The effect replacements like the pew pew noises probably aren't going to be an option though.
