Played for four hours.

Finally got the map I needed, Tourmaline.

Spawned, with all the other Assaults, at the the far spawn point.

I, and all the Assaults, were engulfed in a sh1tstorm of LRMs, CERLs, and Gauss as we tried to regroup with the rest of the team.

Dead within 2 minutes, couldn't even make it across to cover.

*sigh*

yeah well...i can say, i tried to help assaults once.
you wanna know what they done? kept running away. not turning around to build up some sort of defense or helping me.
so many assault players are too rubbish for those mechs to even get helped. quite tragic for the good players amongst.

I don't think anyone could have helped us, so I don't blame the team.

I think it's stupid that PGI drops the slow Assault lance in a place where they have no choice but to walk a long way across uncovered ground, within easy enemy weapon distance, to get to cover. It's a 'setup to fail' situation.

I also think it's bad luck that, the one time I took a slow Assault to the one map where I needed a point, I got dropped at that spawn point.

Yep, that must be the spawn where you are stuck in the middle of nowhere, and have two choices, run left away from the team to certain death, or run across an open field and get pummeled by the entire enemy team as you try to escape towards your team.

Those Tourmaline Assault and Conquest spawn locations need to be fixed.. soon.

It's hard to understand why PGI hasn't done something about it. This has been going on for a year now.

actually it can be helped. get the heavies to the ridge in the center. i usually do that prevent lights sneak through.
most times, lights and meds run off, chase their assaults then cry because they died while the assaults never had the chance to even get a long range pokeshot off. mining collective has such moments....

have to tell this quick.

was testing my mauler out. minng collective conquest. unskilled mech. starting far left. lights far right, heavies center.
everyone took off straight away to theta and where their assaults spawned. us assaults merely had a speed even near 60. by the time our team was dead by their assaults (and the rest of the team that was smart enough to move to them instead of running away) we literally only been somewhere near center.

assaults get blamed for not taking the mechs out that been with us (a whole 2 mechs... clanmechs poking longrange)


sometimes you really just want to ban people for beeing complete pointless morons.

yep, happend same for me 2x from 2x on mining.
Then i went full rambo with MAL-R, and got that 350 after 1 day of trying.

All I need is tourmaline.....hadn't gotten it since yesterday morning at some point....finally do and it is a roll...game over, 238 points. This event is weak.
