Battle Brothers is a fun fantasy game where you command a mercenary group up to 12 men. You take missions from villages, cities and castles. World map is real time but battles are turn based. It's still early access but even in the current state it's quite fun.

FTL & The Curious Expedition for the fans of rouge games

Ive started on Borderlands 2 (As it is currently on in the steam sale) which is quite funny and good at releasing agression. Another source of games I often use is the Humblebundles. Every now and then there are some really good packages (Total War was mentioned earlier in the thread which is currently on there).

XCOM is quite good for turn based combat and strategic / tactical gameplay

The new one is honestly pretty calming compared to UFO Defense.
Haven't got into terror from the deep yet but man what I wouldn't give for the cover mechanic. Load down best soldiers with bazooka's, redshirts with laser rifles, and hope there are no crystalids or funding cuts until a few tech breakthroughs happen.

When you win UFO Defense, it's a very satisfying achievement.

Here's some System Shock I recorded over the weekend.

Great game. Graphics aren't great. But I promise you'll have to think to solve this immersive treat.

I remember that game :D
System shock 1 had the worst controls ever though besides being pretty awesome for its time.

SystemShock-2 I fell in love with though, amazing game, I really wish they would make games like this again.

I'm playing monster hunter freedom unite again. Lovely bit of challenge picking up the weapons I was never much good at.

I suggest Total War: Atilla, where you raze and sack into desolation any and all cities you encounter. <maniacal   >

This, or any Total War title for that matter.

that sony online entertainment debacle was the most verbal violence and outrage that i have seen in a community.

it was like pgi doing stuff, only the game was completely paid - and the playerbase was huge. and the game didn't even need to be touched

Hah yeah System Shock 1 was hard to control. I've beaten it on the original scheme and the second time around I used the mouselook mod (which also lets you redefine keys and resolution).

I love the second game too despite how stiff things feel in it.
