1. Now that we have actual dropships in the regular queues, why not change the "Play Now" to "Launch" instead? Every other mechwarrior game had this.

2. If PGI can't fix them, why not remove the useless "Auto Detect" screens entirely? I think it is a real immersion killer when I'm piloting my mech and I see screens that say "Auto Detect: No " on them. No one would pilot a mech malfunctioning that badly IRL.

3. Add engineers to the mechlab. We have them in the new academy, so why doesn't someone man the console in the mechlab?

Posted Image

4. Finally, at nighttime, we have absolutely no external lighting from the mech. So, why not add headlights? It may not do a lot for gameplay, but it certainly would improve nighttime immersion.

Please let me know what you think of these suggestions. Also, feel free to share any additional ideas. :)

Thanks,
Matthew

Gimme Headlights and an HID Option.

I'm gonna shine a light in your night vision.

Most of this is pretty much please.

This has been suggested before. Especially as a way to blind people using vision modes.

The screens work for some of the older mechs. Which leads me to believe someone just got lazy doing their job.

They should not only make the screens work but make them display more useful data too.

In all seriousness, I would love a headbob similar to the likes of MW3 and MW2 combined. A toggleable rotational and vertical bob that syncs (for the most part) in accordance with the cockpit. Completely independent of the reticule, ofc.

It'd reaaaaally help muh giant stompy robbit immersions

Err... Step 1:
Oculus/Vive support

Oculus support really shouldn't be that difficult.
It's just that they have to do it. PGI doesn't have time for much of anything, which makes the difficultly of any changes irrelevant if they're not going to do it.

1. Now is actually misleading - should be Play/Launch Soontm
2 + 3 - Totally agree. Useless pictures even. Faction logo? PGI - if you want to shamefully advertise. NBC - I don't care get some sponsor dollars out of it, just make it do something other than look broken.
4. I'm fine with headlights. Won't use them for anything but a target when other people switch them on, but totally go for it. Would be interesting if nothing else.

Heretic!
Unbeliever!

Get rid of the "autodetect no" screens?

STONE HIM!!!

I'm pretty sure that they are still working on a deal with APPLE, to put their logos on those iPads.

Those things have been a BLIGHT on the cockpit since the start of closed beta. The sad thing is that they could display pretty much ANYTHING and be an improvement.

Anyone for paying $1 to put a cherished image on one of them? You'd be the only one who can see them, so it could even be boo bs! Okay..so tht wouldn't fly..but what about simple info like the planet name, ambient temp, gravity? Are you within ECM range? How about a notification instead of the "eyeball"?

The possibilities are ENDLESS, yet they sit there like a pimple on the developers hind end. FYI..that's the only reason I suggested "selling" the space for pics......maybe they'd do something if they saw a buck in it.

+1

Add pilot eject animation to. Seeing other mechs eject their pilot pod would show the mechs scale better and in a big way and also add another sim element.

Interesting, I kinda figured the interior screens were busted when the mission kill count one never budged above zero when I started trashing bozos left and right. I wonder why they're busted though, maybe it causes to much graphical lag?

i could stand for torse and shoulder weapons to act like the mech is actually lurking and limping along when it is legged.

this has always bugged me the mech should lumber more when we lose control of the leg.

Good point, at least in Mech 4 they had those damage animations, In mech 3 it was the animation plus damaged sound effects.

+1 Also everything should feel different when legged other than just a speed reduction, including how the cockpit shakes.

+1 to all of this. Even if some of them are optional, I'd like the more sim like aspect of how your head bobs and stuff. Headlights are something I've been wishing for since the first time on the new River Cirty at night... Or at least night vision without the lame distance drop off... That's what I find most unrealistic.

Add a red smudge to the inside of certain light mech windscreens to represent the pilots experiencing the rediculous G-forces that would result from decelerating from 170kph to zero to 100kph in reverse inside 2 seconds.

Remove the screens on the normal mech. But keep it on the Urbie please! I like my screen destroyed by a gun bullet and my throttle saying "Low < Less Slow"

Shameless self-plug

But yeah, i agree with all of the points.
Especially the headlights. I'd love a giant mech-sized flashlight that illuminates like 500 meters in the front and blinds anyone using night-vision B)
