I believe Kristian already asked Russ to look into.

I see it as a 'no'. Not very hopeful. But it's better then nothing.

Does anyone have experience with LB-X weapons? Are they really more reliable than SRMs?

If so, they should just treat them like slow-moving, gravity-unaffected LB-X projectiles. I mean why have an explosion when it's only 5 cm in radius?

I play alot on the Assault with the LBX10. Atleast on 3 on my Atlas.

Currently on hold though as practically none of my Orions has a LBX.

If i may belive our BORKED stats:

Note: the low amount of matches on the ARTEMIS is due the fact of i find in my personal opinion ARTEMIS takes up too much space on the Atlas. Except for the obvious variants. (+1 extra slot +1 ton)

WeaponMatches FiredHitAccuracy
LB 10-X AC 61322,28117,60979.03%
SRM 425646,164 19,29641.80%
SRM 4 +ARTEMIS19149,29825,163 51.04%

While the LBX10 is my top peformance weapon. While the UAC/5 is my favourite.

Edit: fixed the table.

The difference speak for itself.

Take a beer, take some nuts...here's a delicious new story!

So i had a little more time today to analyse another video i have recorded this week.

My ping: 25 ms
Ping of targer in this case the Jager is: 148 ms
Difference = 123.

Here's the link to the video.

Analysis:
I took screencaps from salvo 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6.
The 4th salvo was too hard to analyse it.

It was 'day' so i had a better grasp of my target silhouette. ITS A JAGER!!111!

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

The story continues...

You probaly noticed i was spreading some damage around. Especially when i had to resposition myself around the target so fresh components was being hit then where i first started.

But what makes my head scratching is why the rear of that specific Jager eat about 3 full SRM4 barrages? I see full hits, all barely with minimal loss of missiles.

Do you have a sharp eye? If so; you would likely have noticed the following thing:

Posted Image
At: 0.32-33 seconds.

Posted Image
At 0.59 seconds.

THEY DISSAPPEARED IN THE MATRIX FOR A SECOND!
WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS?

Now i let you guys be the judge and i would love to hear how terrible buttfucked SRMs are. In my opinion it couldnt get more worse then this.

One question remains:
What kind of witchcraft is this and has it to do with SRMs animation?

My brain even hurts more....

yeah, it's not news that SRM hit detection is as reliable [Redacted]. my "go-to" mech is actually a commando and i've had days where i'll throw 2-3 three volleys of missiles into an exposed red internal at near point blank and they just all go right through and his the trees in front of them. it just doesn't work with the netcode for some reason....

The Ebon Jaguar dissappears twice by the way. Shortly after the first it goes another half second off the map.

This is exactly what is wrong with this game on the deepest level.

Non-hitscan weapons suck, hitreg for them sucks and srms suck.

I kind of chuckled at that one. It was funny and even funnier it's kind if true as shown in the video!

I really wish PGI invested in to developing good custom tools so that they could edit these things , test them and implement an improvement in a months time , instead of praying and needing to present a sacrifice to the eldritch monster that there code seems to be, much like ammo change and a few other things....

Also I get this nagging feeling that most of the code problems stem from the fact that the game space is huge, and mechs are huge and the distances are huge in a game made for much smaller instanced battles, leaing me to think that maybe it would work fine if mechs were human size and everything else was scaled to it's size.

Did you happen to note the PING of the Adder? There has been a problem with hit reg between players with vastly different PINGs. At least there has been ever since it changed from 8v8 to 12v12.

"Vastly" being a diffence of over 100ms.

This only happens if a ping is going up and down.

If they are holding still at 30 and 300 there is no problem.

That's one of the problems. But the difference between me and the Adder was 5 ms. That's extremely small difference.
While the difference between me and the Jager was 123 ms.

Both shouldnt have that much impact on gameplay. Atleast my opinion.

The rediculous spread of these thing arent helping either. And by the looks of it only a few missiles from the salvo hits the target while there should have been way more hits.

Quote

It doesnt help that the visual flight path of the missiles, is not the same as the ray trace used to apply damage. Thats why the missiles appear to "warp" from being free of the terrain, to hitting the terrain meters to the right of their flight path. The visuals and the "invisible missile entity" arent conjoined.

what i see everywhere on your pictures, is wrong program code. it totaly missing target, and the hits are calculated randomly.

:(

So you think I shouldnt better create this SRM monster ?

I too was having problems with my AS7-S missiles Atlas since I went back to the AS7-D with less missiles and more AC I noticed a sudden change in damage spike the AC were now the damage dealers cause the friggin SRM's on numerous occasions failed to register.

Just a comment but in your last picture it looks like the Adder decided to fire missiles just as your missiles were hitting it so I don't think the "continuing" missile traces that head off at a different angle are your missiles at all ... they belong to the target. The Adder is equipped with 4 x C-SRM6 so that seems quite likely since the secondary missile traces appear to be aligned with the Adder firing and not your missiles.

Well i usually strip armor first with laser or ballistic weapons and then try to crit with (S)SRMS.

The thing what goes wrong is once armor is stripped and internal components are exposed this thing is extremely unrelieable. Like the animation + damage (minus spread) + hit is not adding up.

The spread is just awfuly terrible.

In the case of the Adder it was practically a full alpha (later gauss hit on the CT) of thats 59.40 pts of damage or 6.02 DPS.

The Jager is different. Instead of full alpha's in only used SRMs. But man, that was rough. Got me headscratching after unloading 3 times a full SRM barrage in the rear of it.

My hearing is terrible, but when i crank the volume whole up. (I can barely hear it) I dont hear the streak sound from the Adder. He didnt even fire untill i twist my torso then you can hear the sound of the c-streaks. The IS sound and Clan sound of SRMs/Streaks as far i can hear are different(?)

I hope i did not misunderstood you.

Perhaps I will post another video later today how terrible SRMs are in the first place. Everybody knows that.
