I feel a little bad for the designers that spent so much effort to create challenging maps for us to play. Once Map selection has been in effect, some of them are almost never chosen.
To me it would have been more logical to keep the Map and Mode selection random but allow you pick your Mech, say from a pre-configured Drop Deck similar to CW.
It actually makes more logical sense, after all, in a more real world scenario, you would most likely know the location and mission objectives before you went on the mission. Why bring a slow Mech if your mission may require speed? Why bring an ultra hot Mech to a location you knew would make the objective harder?
I realize there may be some logistics for the new Drop weight dependent matches, but it should be workable.
Just a thought....
