My Maths is not reel goods but if 2 out of every 3 new account are "Baby Seal Clubbing Smurfs", then wouldn't those "Baby Seal Clubbing Smurfs" end up fighting other "Baby Seal Clubbing Smurfs" as often or even more than actual new "Club-less Baby Seals"? ;)

your seal-fu is weak. If you were a true clubber, you wouldn't be in Tier 3 after a year Posted Image

you do realize tiers have nothing to do with individual skill right?..... they are basically exp counters and if everyone played endless match after match we'd all be tier one sooner or later

I am sure that is the reason my exp bar dropped by about one third while I was leveling my Resistance mechs. It still has not recovered to where it was. But hey, just assume everyone is a hot shot like you are and probably in a clan.

I'd be very surprised if there was any major rise in players due to the steam launch. Maybe a wave of previous players checking out the changes. The chance for MWO was two years ago. Then there should have been fast development and attractive content (whichever that means my be personal preference). But as long as the servers are still running, it is at least a nice game to pop in and stomp around in a big robot.

When I made this account just before Tukayyid it was almost instantly T3. I doubt people are going to stay clubbing for too long unless they purposely throw games, like smurfs in League of Legends do to avoid being promoted to T5 of the next rank.

Actually, that's even worse............

psr is calculated by overall team score basically not individual piloting so team performance can hold you back sometimes

False

PSR ups and downs are always static.

To not lose PSR on a loss, get 200 Match Score, or 400 damage.
To gain PSR on a loss, 450

Although it might be 250 and 400...somewhere around there, but always static scores based on Loss or Win.

Wins are much less.

There are interesting rumors and theories that once you get past Tier 2 into Tier 1, that the bar goes crazy fast.

I don't remember Tier 2 being that quick, and if I do enough matches, I might max out the bar that much quicker...

To be honest, I really can't wait to see just how many new players the game will actually get from steam in saaay, the first 2 weeks after release..

I don't think it will be much to be honest..
