They are literally shooting medium lasers at 2km at each other. It's hilarious.

I believe so. I have a good feeling about this -- he has a ton of viewers, and a lot of them seem interested.
Dude's learning quickly too: "I'm going to pack as many lasers as I can."

His main is T2 he said. Hes running a 2flamer 2 mg locust because he wants to stay t5 and help them... he did use the word help more than once... and he reported another guy for language... I dunno how his main got T2 by the way he pilot his locust, im guessing enough lrm shooting will get you there in the long run.
ESgame own 87 mech, dunno how much of a noob he can be but he got a lot of viewers and that just a good thing for the game. Good luck to him.

Ok im spectating him now and this is great. His gang is definetly new and it's actually entertaining to watch them play. They are trying to figure out what they do right/wrong, interesting to watch even when you pull your hair sometimes lol.

Im pretty sure by watching the stream, that NGNG made them accounts with predefined mechs which they can use (he has Bombadil in his friends list). They also got over 35k MC to spend each. Its marketing, really good marketing. Because enough people are asking which game this is.
Good move by PGI.

Its sponsored content. Read it as PGI paid him to stream the game, and also set him up with an account loaded with stuff (because it would be boring to watch someone just start out and grind for weeks.)
I think the biggest insight with the new players has been that no one thinks of this as a Giant war machines simulation. I think the following sentence sums up it perfectly "I don't know what guy I want to use". The very first thing said in the stream.

Seriously watch the whole thing. Its interesting.
New players 100% solidly think of the game as any other first person shooter, where you pick your "guy" like Team fortress, Rainbox six, battlefied etc.
"Guy" was said at least 40 times. Jump jets are referred to as "jet packs", pack meaning something an individual wears (32:36).
51:30 "His left leg is broken"
The game looks and plays like the mechs are people, because they really are people sized. All those cars are really just mouse sized, and you are person sized. The gravity is that of what would be if you were human sized.
33:58. Guy says my left leg and right torso are "f***ed, When it was his right leg and left arm. Thats because the paper doll readings are back to front as Ive said in the past.

Yea I love seeing the new player experience. I cant be the only one that finds it hilarious. Its akin to watching a puppytrying to walk for the first time.

Really? Lol its sad you actually believe that if you're not religiously targeting mechs if you don't need to or want to makes you not know how to play the game.
Thats like saying you can trash talk a Heavy weight champion of the world for not knowing how to fight, just because he doesn't know how to tie his boxing match shoe laces.

The most heart-warming bit was where they marvelled at how nice their team-mates were although they sucked. Well done there, MWO community.

I like that nature of MWO in some way, but I really feel 12v12 is too much and it just exaggerates the problem. 8vs8 is a much better game mode, or they need to have 4vs4 game mode.
