With all of the changes the last few months I decided to start playing with builds favoring the new.
Going to add to this as I go, not sure if I'll just edit the OP or not.

The 18
So 1st up is one for the 18 that Im liking so far. Calling it Special Sauce because lights see me firing an lrm and ml and think they found a medium lrm boat. I let them come right in firing the lrm 10 and ml until they are 100m or so and splat.

180-300m its an armor shredding 71 alpha with no ghost heat.
Spoiler

If you've ever ran this build let us know your results.

The 19
The KTO 19 won the qruirk lotto on Dec 1, it got agility quirks and its weapons quirks folded into generic quirks.
The cooldown rate lets it get almost the lrm output with 4 lrm5 that the 18 does with 5. It carries a lot less ammo to compensate for the 2 LL but thats ok the lasers are primary and the lrms are for chance inderect targets and spamming a target so you can safely get the lasers on them. I run this in pugs and cw and has become my go to. Good speed and can actually brawl a bit.
Spoiler

The 20
This guy was known for the crazy LL quirks that led to the obvious 3 LL/ 2LL 2ml builds. they just folded that goodness into generic energy quirks.

The obvious long long range ERLL sniper. Defending Boreal? Need something with range and power in a small package? This is your build. The combined potential 35% range quirk puts optimal at 911.25m and max at 1822.5m. The heat is a very respectable 1.42. The xl320 gives you a bit more oomph than my go to xl300.
Spoiler

If you swap out the CT erll for 2 ml you can go 2 routes, add an srm6 and a ton of ammo with a heat of 1.28 or max engine with 5 dhs heat 1.33 speed 113.9 kph. With rockets looks like this.
Spoiler

The ml get a range bump out to 364.5m optimal 729m max and the rockets get a velocity bump of 10% and are ST mounted so no flap issue like the CT mounts on the other variants.

Just so the Meta doesn't feel left out here are some Wub builds.

This one I call Pure Wub. It might look a little under gunned but survivability is the goal here and it brings a heat rating of 1.46 with the wubbiness, push them into overheat and murder them. Range adding to survivability here they are, LPL optimal 492.75m max 985.5m, mpl optimal 297m max 594m.
You could drop the 2 mpl and 3 dhs for a 3rd LPL and still have a heat of 1.4
Spoiler

For the Love of Wub and Rockets

The big wub smack x2 with a pair of srm6 in case they want to cuddle. Heat 1.34. Both LPL in the arm might be better, the arms are small so don't soak a lot of damage but I lose them often enough to not want to put all my eggs in 1 baskets.
Spoiler

EDIT: smurfs gets the weight wrong on the KTO. Ill try to get the info not in the screen caps in the description.

replace that lurm rack with another srm 6 and you have my ride.

I see your logic however. Much more utility like this.

Your prior comments inspired me to switch my 4 SRM4s to LRM5s, and you were totally right, the thing is a very dangerous machine. I use tag and it's a laugh because people see one laser pointer and run directly to cover.

This new build looks fun but I can't afford the XL300 right now, and somehow I don't think it'll work as well on an STD 210. . . . Another thing to save up for.

The best reason to buy the Jenner (C) is it comes with that 300XL engine. Right now it's on sale for 725 MC. What a deal!

Best part is this plays right to the new quirks and ghost heat. I play the 5X srm6 2 mpl build a lot. To make this work I drop to ml and drop the dhs that I used to offset ghost heat and trade 1 ton of srm for lrm ammo.

I got lucky there, I had a grand total of 6 mechs when I started with the Kintaros. Had just bought some premium tim with the intention of grinding out an 18. Had tried the 18(C) trial mech and was in love. Then i noticed the sale going on and had just barely enough for the 18(C) but not enough for the Golden Boy. The 18(C) came with a xl300, I shared that engine across all 3 variants. Gotten so used to cramming it in every mech I can that today I own 42 xl engines 10 are xl300s. Still my personal go to engine.
That said, you would be better off buying the xl295 its the sweet spot for fitting in and being enough grunt for the widest range of mechs.
Glad the lrms are working out for you. Anyone who calls lrm5s sub par weapons has never ran a Kintaro.

That is a good deal. They were one of my favs from other mech titles, but they were neglected by PGI for a long time so i sold them for the mechbays and cb.

Bump for new builds in the OP. You guys like that better or would you rather have them add in replies posts below?

Update new KTO 19 build added to the op.

I will use the space here to say something more about this build. Its a work horse, If you get into a situation where you can't fire lrms the 2 LL+quirks and mods have a nice punch. It almost maintains the snappiness of the Kintaro pre skills nerf.

I run with the front of the pack and get early shots with the lrms and lots of scouting bonuses. If I get a bit to far out I can usually retreat and be in effective fighting shape still.

Out of all the Kintaro builds I've ran this is one of the best.

Hey Tractor Joe,
thanks for the builds. I just purchased my first Kintaro yesterday, nothing basiced yet so I cannot give a feedback on that mech yet. I play mainly medium SRM brawlers like the GRF-3M or the SHD-2D2 and therefore chose the very rare Kintaro because of the missile hard points.
However, regarding your KTO-18 build: Even though I like the thought to have something for longer range, I would rather drop the LRM10 and the 2 tons of ammo to switch to 4 ASRM6s with a total of 7 tons of ammo (edit: 7 might be too much tho) in order to reduce the spread. Just had a game with approx. 650 dmg and I ran out of ammo, too bad...

What's everyone's favorite KTO variant?

I have the -20 and -GB, I like them, mixing it up between MPL arrays and pairs of ERLL with three LRM launchers.

Useful!

I just put an XL 325 and 5 SRM6's on my KTO 18 and call it a day. SRM spam-o-thon.

I think its the 18 as a SRM brawler. The 20 is decent as well. I just feel the 19 is the weakest variant of that chassis, dunno why...

I just pulled off a 555 match score in my KTO-20, 3 LRM 5, 1 ERLL, 3 MPL build, did almost nine hundred damage.

Rugged.

I'm starting to play around with a single ERLL mixed with three or four medium or MP lasers, it's an interesting way to build out a laser brawler that can still poke a little.

mean brawler, XL 280, 1 LPL, 2 MPL, 4srm 4's.. use LPL at distance, or to finsish componets if running cool, otherwise stick to ur SRMS and MPL in a brawl
