Nock! Draw! LOOSE the archer builds!!

ARC-2R
A standard, Origenal 2R model related, build. STD engine, 2 LRM 15's + Artemis and 6 Medium lasers. A bit hot but we'll try to manage

ARC-5S
You see, i always hated the LRM 5 spammers...So i am gonna spam them to death with 4 LRM 10's with artemis. Hunt them down, cut them down, then die myself

ARC-5W
Common, we all have waited for the 9 missile slot archer....8 SRM 4's..1000 jolly missiles and 16 DHS so i can keep on firing them. The point here is not exactly to alpha strike. But to divert them in 2 groups non-chain fire with 4 per group, and 2 groups with chainfire per 4.

TEMPEST
Honestly, i have my doubts with this build. Will see what it brings. Might replace the LRM15's with smaller launchers and grab 2 Large lasers...i dunno

I seem to be more of a fan of SRMs, I've always wanted to chain fire missiles like the Mad dog could, but now that the Archer is coming closer to release, I can happily do so.

Might as well just chime in:

This is gonna be my Tempest. Will figure out armor distribution online.

Archers unite!

LRM 120 archer.

You know you want to try it at least once for laughs.

after my first couple of matches the mech feels terrible to play.

Even in a STD 340, you cannot twist or tank dmg.

It feels almost like the ct is bugged, I've literally been shot in the left st and have it hit the RT before the CT.

I'm horribly dissappointed.

The best so far seems to be the tempest. But that's not saying much.

On another note, didn't they say that the missile doors were removable? Like arm actuators, e.g. in the mech lab? Oris it only just by destruction in-game?

Non removable. They don't count towards ST, but it does give the mech away.

Has anyone actually tried 9 LRM5s on the 5W? It's hands down the most obnoxious thing I have ever housed in my garage. There's something to be said when you can chainfire cycle through them to the same insanity that the locust 3S could do with it's SRM tubes, while comfortably sitting with over 2800 missiles stocked. it only took me 1 million Cbills to get this loaded, including ammo and BAP for faster locks.

I tried this and it works best for me. In my experience, the Archer is unable to brawl, i too have the feeling something about the ST is bugged. Maybe the doors do actually count as ST, which would explain why i suck at splatting with it compared to other splat-mechs...

The mech is all side torso. You know the big central torso that sticks out? The entire sides of that count as part of the side torsos

Currently trying 4xALRM5, 4xSSRM2, NARC and a BAP
Jury is still out, but has a sweet spot between 180 and 270 meters.

Here's mine: Tempest

Only 2 matches so far. First match was a loss. Second was a win with 500+ C-Bills earned (4 kills / 5 Assists), so I would consider it to be a viable build.

I built it so as to be able to zombie if it needs to, but the need hasn't come up yet.

ARC-5W

I've had fairly good games using this so far. Runs a bit hot but least it guarantees whatever faces you gets vaporized just by you looking at it funny. Coulda done 9 SRM6 but eh 8 seems more of a better even set than 9

ARC-2R

This has also been fairing ok so far. Manageable, decent range and slightly, however barely noticeable beneficial it is from its quirks. Usually end 400+ dmg a game so far tonight.

Cant find anything good so far for the 5S i enjoy yet
