So, why is it so highly praised in the whole little fanbase we have? I mean, I don't really know much about battletech but the Urbanmech doesn't seem that useful, at least in-game.

Others will answer its non-game popularity, but in-game it's not a terrible mech, and certainly not the worst Light mech in the game.

It has good convergence, good mount positions, great hitboxes (it can tank way more damage than you think), and a small profile. Its only true weakness is its speed, which isn't any worse than the non-Cheetah Clan Lights.

Whenever I think of Urbies, I always recall MW2: Mercenaries version with super easy to hit cockpits and easy salvage. They will always be joke material in my eyes.

Urbies have always been the underdog, soft spot in our hearts kinda crummy mech in BattleTech. Not sure why. I guess it is the way people always hate getting killed by one from the board game days through the computer age.
