Tk Penalties - Add Forgive Feature

This game needs a system like other games have where if you kill a teammate, that teammate has the option to forgive. 2 minute penalty isn't so bad but it's still 12 guys waiting for 2 minutes, FOR NOTHING. In this instance, teammate ran into my arty and died. This is war, tk's are a part of the game, add the option to forgive and let's get out of the stone-age.

I don't know what the penalty is for 2nd tk or how long it takes to reset ur stats, but, correct me if I'm wrong, I think it's a 20min penalty for 2nd TK... Does it reset per game? per 4 hours? waht?

I agree. When Russ decided to make that system, He didn't think about the problems it would cause and its making the player base smaller because of things like this. He must have been thinking of being a complete *******. Right now, its 100% garbage in the way its setup as.

Not to mention it's taken ALL the fun out of ghost drops! Ghost drops were bad enough but at least we got to let off steam over the anger of getting a 'ghost' drop and battle eachother. Now we can't even do that... PGI please add the 'forgive' feature and keep the game moving in the right direction.

Was the existing 3 page thread debating the TK penalty not good enough?

Per the March patch notes...

The breakdown of the current penalty levels follow the same structure as the existing Disconnect Penalty system:
First Penalty: 10 second delay for next matchmaking search.
Second Penalty: 2 minute delay for next matchmaking search.
Third Penalty: 5 minute delay for next matchmaking search.
Fourth Penalty: 10 minute delay for next matchmaking search.
Fifth Penalty: 20 minute delay for next matchmaking search.
Each subsequent penalty beyond the Fifth will also enforce a 20 minute penalty.
Penalty levels reset every 4 hours.


I often play for four hours at a time. I've never gotten to the 3rd penalty level for anything (damage or disconnecting).

Problem is that Russ didn't realize that we already had a system currently in place and when he made this garbage system, he didn't put certain conditions or situations in consideration and it was implemented without realizing that maybe the report system just needs a simple revision.

Thanks for trying but I guess the three page thread debating the TK penalty system ISN'T enough because your chart doesn't answer ANY of my questions on the topic. Those penalties you have listed must be for team damage, not team kill. I got one team kill and received penalty #2, why did I skip #1? What is penalty for 2nd tk? How long before it resets?

Go read the march patch notes... I pasted the penalty period chart... not the full explanation of how the TK/Team Damage system works. X amount of team damage (and they won't reveal what that X value is) is equivalent to one team kill, and multiple penalties can result from a single match. This information is also explained in the existing 3 page conversation on the system that was only half way down the page. Try scrolling the topic list first next time.

DAEDALOS513. If you have a TK through appling a lot of damage to your teammate you will get 2 penalties. One for TK and one for team damage.
In our group we have to wait sometimes 10 seconds because a teamkill or FF. So what? We have to wait longer than 2 minutes for people searching for modules.
If anyone was unlucky enough to get a penalty for 5+ minutes. he/she will leave the group and come back after the next drop. Letting everyone wait is not cool.

And I don't think you need something like a feature to "forgive" a tk. If you have to wait some seconds so be it. Of course you could always say "the other one's at fault", but if you place an arty strike on a place where it can hit friendlies you have to get over it when it hurts the wrong guys.

I don't mind waiting out on a public drop until my 2-5 minute penalty is over, but when we are cw'ing, that's a different matter altogether.

You think TK forgiveness is useless but it would have saved a 12man dropping cw 2 minutes (this may not seem like a long time, but ADD that to the usual wait time to find a match, and we have a problem). TK forgiveness would also allow for some ghost-drop fun allowing teammates to battle each other without fear of the overlords punishing us.

I'm sure there are many more uses for TK forgiveness, but I'll let others come up with them..
