After looking through several threads concerning system performance, it seems that most people think the CPU or GPU is the direct result of low FPS.
There are in fact a big portion of players that has big fluctuating FPS depending on the map and when combat takes place.
I did a few tests and realized that texture settings have a BIG effect on your video memory (as well as anti aliasing) and these are my findings.
1. Low texture, 700 to 800MB
2. Med texture, 1.2GB to 1.4GB
3. High texture, 2.3GB to 3GB
4) Very High texture, about the same as high texture.
That explains why (on top of CPU and GPU) some players experience fluctuating FPS. That's because when your video ram gets filled up, FPS drops and starts fluctuating. This is especially bad on large maps where tons of texture gets loaded.
I tried the test under both 1080p and 1440p and video ram usage is about 200 to 300MB difference.
For players that have fluctuating FPS, especially in CW, try keeping the same resolution but turn down your textures to the lowest and see if that helps with stabilizing your FPS.
There are many other factors that involve FPS e.g. latency, etc but hardly anybody brought up video ram in all the threads I read here. Hopefully this will help everybody have a smoother CW experience.
