This was just thought up by me, and possibly by hundreds of others. Not only this would help bring life back to faction play possibly, but make the game a bit more enjoyable. From the over populated Inner Sphere Houses To some of the Underpopulated Clans. Defense Should only call upon Call to Arms, and their on faction just like attacking a planet. To many times people arnt defending their own planets cause they know say big mercs are in another faction so they'll defend against the smaller populated ones. Its getting annoying to attack one planet over and over and over again only to see, the Different Houses or Clans defending it.

He's saying:
"You can only defend planets your faction controls."
OR
"You cannot defend a planet that belongs to a faction different to the faction you belong to."
At the moment the system allows you to defend planets that belong to 'traditional allies' so it does make sense.
Given the populations in the game, it may not be practical to limit this further. That said, when there are battles going on they all seem to be concentrated on one planet.
Often when looking at the faction map there will be 60+ teams attacking and defending all on the one planet.
The suggestion may help to spread that out a bit more and therefore have more simultaneous conflicts across more planets around the map.
There is also the potential for a single faction to be overwhelmed if they come under attack on multiple borders.
It would be interesting to see how it might play out but it also changes the way the current alliance system is working.
