So, as some of you know, I’m a big advocate of improving our chat system. I believe we would all benefit from, and have fun with a Community Access Point, or C.A.P. Russ has even acknowledged (in town hall) that this is an area needing serious attention. I’d like to start motivating this issue, and am interested in people’s ideas, expectations, or thoughts on the subject.

~Like kids in a fort, make it a playhouse, fun, interesting expansive… Make it a great tool as well:

My personal idea, is to have the chat system be a separate, but integrated program so that one can run without the other, but that together they work seamlessly as if one program. If you don’t like chat, then you don’t even need to download it. Like it, and it can open a world of faction interactions, friends and frienemies, Unit communications, setting up custom matches, unit/personal profiles, friend notes etc, etc… Without the C.A.P. the game could have a “Lite” version in case someone without C.A.P. needs a unit, match, or friends invite (etc.). ~ So, that’s my current thinking on a good chat idea. Possible for PGI to create something like this? – Hmmmm, I don’t see why not. Over wolf kind tries to do it via Team Speak… So, I’m sure PGI could make something that really works better since it’s their own code and all.
It could blend right in, and be very fun and useful.

Let me know your ideas or thoughts. How do YOU envision the chat system? ~ Lets get this going.

Honestly? I envision several delays and the final product will more or less be patchwork to make something that's halfway presentable and won't be touched on again after 1-2 hotfixes. Am I jaded or pragmatic?

It will be ONE, on a scale of 1-100, better than what we have now. Russ will, drunkenly, say it's awesome and the forums complain too much. He'll also inform us that this is the finished product and that only small cosmetic changes will be coming in the future.

WASP IS COMING PLS BUY!!!!!!!

If this game wasn't the franchise my older brother introduced me to when I was 5, I swear I'd... Posted Image

The short of it's you want something akin to Eijen and ventrillo. But combined with mwo. Eh, it could work but there are alternatives already, is honestly rather people utilize the existing 3rd party sites and let pgi work on improving game product viability to be above minimum.
