Hey gang, just wondering if the missile tube counts match up with the missiles mounted on the BB. I know it is hardly important due to being unable to view something behind closed doors in the Mech Lab, but I was curious all the same. Anyone have a friend who could take a screenie with the missile doors open? Just wanted to see how the art department handled it... lazy or legit.

Thanks

Hey, I know this thread had absolutely nothing to do with the mini-map, but my question still stands... if anyone can provide a screen shot and the missile load out at the time. Still curious as to the art direction on the ButterBee. Thanks! :P

I wouldn't know about the Butterbee itself, but when I was on the testing grounds and destroyed a Catapult armed with an LRM20 the arm fell onto the ground with more tubes than 20 in it.

You might need a buddy to look at it while you have the doors open to get a more accurate reading.

can't see it in the mechlab, sadly. I wonder if they have a secret hotkey to open the doors (and crab claws) in mechlab...

However the cats I've seen so far all have the same box so my bet is it will be a default setting. Will try a A1 with LRM90 to see how many tubes are in there.

Need moar butterbee info.

Who has one? How does it fare? Are the 2 extra hardpoints worth the quirks?

Also a new thread for opening bay doors in the mechbay.

Quirks are not really big on it, but so aren't they on the C1.

If you compare to a C4 Splatcat you gain 2 ML more of course but that makes this thing alot hotter (sure, not mastered yet). I like the bigger alpha as it rescued my mech with 2 or 3 kill shots but at the moment I think about dropping those and go ERLL for long range capability.

Comparing the C1... I run that with PPCs and ASRM6 and already have not a single crit slot available. If I drop Artemis and take LPL instead of PPCs maybe I could fit 4xSRM4s but I'm not sure how viable that is.

Ok, just tested and I can confirm that you get at least 45 tubes in one arm - I can fire 3xLRM15 in one salvo.

All we need now is a visual from the front, but I bet 10 cbills it will always show those 35 tubes.

I've seen one BB cat since patch with the doors open. Unfortunately I couldn't get a screen cap as my mech was being outnumbered as the team got rolled. I was planing on getting one but with how bad the mini map is and continues to be I refuse to buy any mc or mechs from pgi until the mini is fixed and not given a band-aid of a hot fix only.

So in other words, you will be picking up the butterbee this week.

Nope. I'm done with pgi and spending money on any thing they produce. After all I have the Founder C1and the rest of the cats. They don't need another hero with the Jester keeping them company. This level of stupid on a basic design level regarding the mini map will not be rewarded with money from me.

That's disappointing...
So it's a static 35 tubes per arm no matter what?
How very disappointing...

Just another case of PGI dropping the ball when it comes to their moronic "dynamic geometry" i guess...

Here you go, left arm has 3xLRM15 in it, right arm has nothing in the first pic and a single SRM4 in the second.

So no dynamic weapon models here, which is fine imo, at least better than what we had before but we should not talk about that ever again. However you get unlimited tubes so all is launched in one salvo and if you look at the construction you just don't fill everything with smaller launchers. But in the end it *is* a missile box so it is ok to show 35 tubes.

Funny thing, if you equip nothing the door won't open.

Thanks for the feedback. I was kind of hoping for a dynamic representation to match weapon load, but I guess it is of little consequence. What happens behind closed doors stays behind closed doors and all that...

Honestly? I can't think of a single mech that has "perfect" dynamic weapon geometry across the board. Every single one has some aspect that's lacking.

The closest one i can think of to being perfect is probably the Catapult-K2/Jester.

It's vastly better than the VCRs, so I thank PGI for that.

But 35 fixed tubes? 35? Why not ... 15? or even 20? I just don't get this decision on a number of levels. I never run cats with that many LRMs in the box. Do they think people run Cats with that many LRMs in the box?

My guess would be that those Boxes are the old models from the C1/A1 and 5x7 just fit nicely. Only 15 would be way to big (only 3x5). So they took the layout that looked best. It isn't even the tube count, so this is likely just for the look.
