Please don't bring any trials to scout drops. The Locust is the best trial for scouting at the moment and it's woefully inadequate. The Vindicator has weapons with minimum ranges that are inside the knife fighting brawls of scout drops and it should be obvious why taking LRMs against mechs that do 90-130kph is a bad call.
Don't bring the Mediums to Invasion either. Try the Battlemaster, Awesome, Jager, and Locust. That's your best bet. Don't expect much.

the tiral awesome? with two LPL and mediums?
Yes, it's an awesome, but still better then the treb or the vindi.
3LPL and 3Mediums, 48 point alpha strike, tiniest 80 tonner torso and 40% heat efficiency. With STD engine.
It's wayyyyyyy better than the medium trials.

Having the Vindicator as an IS trial mech is rough. It's like having one less mech in the trial roster.

It might not be a "great" mech, but it's ridiculously mobile, and feels fun to pilot

The Vindicator is better than the Trebuchet for scouting but they are both awful. Both are fun to mess around with in quick play but not very useful in any FW role.

I would like to see either a Hunchback or Griffin introduced as a Trial for IS Scouting; the Hunchback 4SP is exceptionally tanky and with the 2x ASRM6 4x SPL build it can deal a good amount of damage without too much heat.
Was the Enforcer not a Trial 'Mech a few months ago, with the ML/AC10 build? That would be far more useful and is still fairly tough for it being 50t.
However I agree that the current IS Trial 'Mechs are just not suited to Scouting and give new players a bum deal against the wealth of SkillCrows and various other streak equipped Clan 'Mechs that are out there.

I have a squadmate that uses the champ enforcer for scouting. He does OK with it, but it is too slow for that mode IMO
