Simple, what the topic says.

From my experience 49 % of the time people pick Canyon Network (for good reasons, this map is awesomly designed) and the other 49 % are HPG Manifold. 1 % goes to The Mining Collective and the other 1 % is Terra Therma or something along the lines whenever someone trolls 23 people with his x50 map vote multiplier.*

*Dramatization, but still close

Bottom line: people are playing only ~7 % of all given maps, so please add the old maps (Caustic, Frozen City, River City, Forest Colony and Forest Colony Snow) to the rotation, so we can raise the numbers to a solid...~10 %.
It's easily doable for the programmers, it won't hurt anyone but will give people more (valid) options to chose from.

Another bottom line: the "overhauls" are just terribad in most (not all) of the cases.
And yes, I know that I do sound like a grumpy kid right now. Posted Image

I agree 100% and i think all players would benefit from that. More maps = better either way. I don't see no reason at all why old maps couldn't be put into rotation as separate maps. Also i don't understand why many people are quiet about that, when obviously most aren't ecstatic about new and "improved maps" and would like to play old maps from time to time.

Another point is..why PGI chose to "fix" the most played maps, the most loved ones? While unpopular maps like Terra Therma, Alpine Peaks were not touched much and still are unpopular.

Part of the reason, nobody will ever read all those letters in these meaningless subforums...

I hated most of the old maps.

Frozen city had a problem which 4 assault 'Mechs on 1 team is started of by default in the most awkwardest distance away from the battlefield, separated from the remaining 8 team mates, and in under a minute the enemys team besides like 2 of the slowests assaults already bum rushed you.

Forest Colony had an issue with the tunnel due to the artificial shadow which caused me and other people to have a pitch black screen regardless of what vision mode you are on and most of the UI is gone too until you go 3rd person view or out of the tunnel. Also this map is small

River city had a problem that even though the spawns are as far as possible most often a random gauss round or AC 5 spam hits me from their spawn to my spawn at worst I loose a CT in under the first 30 seconds of the match.

There's a reason the maps are being redone. Most of them are too small for 12 vs 12 and most of them are heavily out dated. I mean just look at the old river city.

To be honest I wish PGI steps up the rate of these map overhauls because the sooner these old maps are gone the better. Can't wait for the Alpine peaks and Canyon Network make overs.

No offense taken, but if you've encountered problems like that (sans the shadow glitch), you were clearly doing it wrong.

Can't wait for overhauls of the overhauls.
Cause that's what you do with your resources when developing stuff. You develop stuff and as soon as it's done you go for makeovers (instead of doing it right at the beginning).
