Jeebus, that's beautiful. Incredibly well done sir.

If you need a painter, I'm slightly up and to the right of the bottom left of canaduh, and I have a cabinet full of Golden Demon trophies lol Posted Image

Well heck, that sounds awesome!

As soon as my next batch of resin arrives, I'll print up a spare and mail them both. Go ahead and PM me your contact info.

Awesome work so far
I'm a little curious to see what the pilot and cockpit look like since you mentioned them.

Must be reaaally small details in there!

Any chance of a KGC-010 piece for the torsos?

Quote

KGC-010 This version of the King Crab was created by the Star League to be a command 'Mech and introduced alongside the original 000 model in 2743. Conceived in secret between Cosara and the Terran Hegemony, it was an attempt to produce a deadly command 'Mech by mounting a pair of newly-developed Hellstar Magna PPCs in either side torso. These PPCs were different from other models in that they did not require an outer "barrel" but instead were mounted flush with the torso, each opening surrounded by a specially-designed Holly SRM-6 launcher, while the cooling sleeves extended out the back of the 'Mech. In place of the normal autocannons the 010 model carried LB-10X cannons. The combination of the non-standard housing and odd-colored discharge of the PPCs caused many pilots to believe they were facing a brand-new weapon systems, while the spine-like protrusions of the cooling sleeves produced massive heat-diffusion waves. All told the 010 model was more than capable of taking down an Atlas, but the entire line left with Kerensky during the Exodus and even knowledge of the design's existence became lost during the Succession Wars.

For visuals, I imagine a missile launcher that sort of resembles the LRM rack on a Zeus. A PPC barrel instead of the solid core, but the SRM6 tubes surrounding it.

Quick MS Paint sketch but it sorta illustrates the point lol :D The real one would need to be a little different to plug the entire gap of course. Maybe a bit bigger.

This is really incredible work! I am floored! 6 1/2 inches tall you say? Too big for the old tabletop battletech games... Is it possible to make this smaller, to the scale of the old battletech minis? Cause that would be amazing...

Anything is possible, and others have done CBT (1/285-ish) miniatures. I do have many in my collection, but I don't have the skills or equipment to make them myself. Anything remotely like buying/selling them on the forums is probably going to end badly lol Posted Image

I could, but then the joints wouldn't work.

-insert ego here- "mine's bigger", eh. Simply could not resist and let the OP have their moment, yeah. Pity.

Excellent craftsmanship, laldabaoth! She's looking incredible & congratulations on pulling all of that exquisite detail together!

I don't think the "mine's bigger" comment was very serious :D

If it makes you feel any better, mine's much smaller (1/285 scale).

...aaaand I broke the shoulder joints. :( Time to reprint the upper arms, with thicker grippers around the ball socket.

true selling them would end badly. But joints not working wouldn't be a real deterrent to tabletop battletech use. I kinda wish I knew more about these 3d printers and had the slightest inkling how you made this!

Printing at CBT scale you can often get away with 5-6 pieces. Arms, legs, torso and waist often works. CBT models don't need the hinges, and the durability wouldn't be very high anyway with pieces that small. But that's a whole other topic :P

Your custom mech looks magnificent!! I am too so interested in STL if you would be extremely kind to share! May I ask you if you could share a better close up or perhaps even in-software screenshot of the ball joints you designed for hip articulation? I am currently working on Maauder print and was thinking to add ball joints to hips and ankles but have no experience in what type to use etc. I would really appreciate any help I can get haha
Thanks a lot

Alexei
