I nice idea would be to have a training ground, where a player is able to practice with his/her Mech and test the customation, instead of disturbing other players during a mission. For example: today I had a few problems with the controls, so I was not able to aid my teammembers during the Mission - there I wished to have a training ground, to become familiar with the controls.

I know folks hate it when I join a game trying to get my controler setup right - something as simple as to verify that you can move and shoot would be wonderful.

I have not found a single joystick in town - trying to configure the razer xbox controler to work - mostly because it's the only thing I found that even has some joy stick "look" to it.

This is very important, I hope they implement it.

YES, a shooting range would be awesome to test (or get used to) your controller config.
P.S. with some targets to blow up, maybe)))

Training and Testing.. it would be nice if the pilots had to pass tests go advance in skills and able to use mechs and weapons. kinda like AA3..=]

On a similar note, even just with using this proposed training or in some other capacity being able to bind your mechs weapons to different buttons outside of a match would be handy.

Yes a basic range or training room would be great so that they can organize House wars for territories later. This also allows less rage when people are sitting there fixing their problems.

Agreed. A good game has a good intro/tutorial on how to play it :-) Needs to include movement, targetting, shooting (obviously), weapon grouping, and even mech customizing.

Am pretty sure I annoyed several teamates today. 1st mission i just sat there unable to move... 2nd mission unable to aim but was able to move around mindlessly. 3rd mission Am not sure what am dooing I just shoot whenever i see my cross hair red.

Would be great if there is a solo stage where you are trained from movement to aiming.

A training ground would be awesome. I have this really fancy joystick and it is very difficult to get the feel of how it works with this game when 5 mechs are hammering you with LRM's because you messed-up the joystick mapping. If not a training ground, then at least let us change the mappings while we're in-game so we can correct a minor mistake like inverting the x-y axis.
