Glad it came in handy (or is that army?) I turned on the gold metal for contrast. But I seem to have lost the metal bits on the feet and laser lens housing. I'll have to go reclip those from elsewhere Posted Image Any suggestions on the cockpit? I thought of adding more glass on the side - where those two thin lines cross over.

If you like - feel free to mess with it yourself - I certainly won't be offended Posted Image

I will take a look. Just give me some days, so I can recover from the stress to do my Wasp. (yep, I struggled a lot with my own cockpit - and I'm not happy with the result either)

Would anybody happen to have a K2 without the background image? I think the template is on page 173.

I've seen some pretty wicked artwork done based off the Phoenix Hawk, turning it into a Wasp/ Stinger/ Valkyrie/ Crusader. Most of it was 3D though, really neat to see the work on the 2D concept art here. The custom work is looking good Posted Image

It would be interesting to see them scaled after, since some are half the size and the Crusader is what 60 tons?

I had originally envisioned it being around chest height to a P-Hawk, but then, when looking at the rescale, was thinking it would be quite a bit shorter :P

skinnier in the torso, bt overall about the same height as the commando make sense (if we are talking the Stinqer or Wasp)

Anyone willing to do a Marauder in a Dragonlords scheme? Here's the official unit logo for the entire brigade. There's no official camo spec, so the artist would have full artistic license, although something really gnarly would be appreciated.

EDIT: No background, please. I intend to tinker around in Photoshop until I create a wallpaper.

These are some of the best repaints I ever saw (not mine, evidently):
Spoiler

Look in the jjm1's deviantart gallery for more.

I know this is not a repaint however....I contacted a well known artist on Deviant Art, Shimmering-Sword (http://shimmering-sw...deviantart.com/) I requested a commission from him to which he agreed to do for me. This was of course for the Mad Cat Mk II! To which I present this beauty!

(He has not posted this to DA yet however he will, this is in no way shape or form my work and all credit goes to him)

sure.

[[Top secret photoshop techniques. Completely unknown to the internets]]

Use a sharp tiny semi opaque brush for scratches. I paint them into a mask channel on a layer of pure white. Then you can tint the white layer to get the right look later. I use a tablet, but sometimes I just use a mouse. Same results.

You want to completely paint over the pencil lines of the original concept art that depict the edges facing you. That's the most important thing if you want it to look less like a technical drawing.

Separate layers for everything, use mask channels to paint in/erase different colour layers, paint fast and rough and then refine it when you find a design you like.

If you want to apply a texture, I use photoshops liquify filter to shape it onto the mech in sections.

Keep looking at them on different days and change the weakest things you see. You might even have to undo hours of work if its not working out, but that's just the process sometimes.

Apart from fun, the other reason I do these is because I can fit 5m sessions in-between MWO matches :P

I appreciate your time sharing that :D I'm still a bit new to all this fun, and y'all continue to amaze me with the images you put out!

Really love the small touches (like that smoke effect on the Marauder's PPC), and those are some of the cleanest curves on Archon!!

Using Odanan's Wasp template - and HBS' Aurigan Coalition - and attempting some of jim1's tips :)

The arm and leg patterns (and overall color pallette) are based on the Maori Kowhaiwhai

Wow, that's nice!

EDIT: I love how detailed/well done are your decals in this repaint.
