I mean think of a new weapon that's destined to be extremely annoying and abused. Here's some of the most evil and annoying weapons I can come up with:

Flamer Turret
  • Weapon Type: Deployable Turret (uses missle-type mount)
  • Action: Deploys a Flamer turret that fires at the nearest hostile target
Put a few of these bad boys next to an overheated Mech and watch the comm channels flare up with the most maliciously horrible flaming ever observed by Man.

(This is just like having an Engineer build an ammo dispenser on the back of a feining spy!!! I love Team Fortress Classic >:-D)

Scythe
  • Weapon Type: Melee
  • Action: Chops their leg clean off
People who hate legging will love this one.

Expanding Polyurethane Missile
  • Weapon Type: SRM
  • Action: Explosive warhead replaced with 2-part expanding polyurethane foam that slowly engulfs your opponent in a huge expanding glob of opaque, adhesive foam.
You thought flares were bad...

Magnetic Claw
  • Weapon Type: Melee weapon for Battle Armor
  • Action: Lets you latch onto an opponent's Mech and pummel them with your other weapons.
"Get'em off me! Get'em Off!!!"

Sticky Smoke Generator
  • Weapon Type: LRM
  • Action: Warhead replaced with a sticky smoke generator that produces huge quantities of smoke that leave a lasting visible trail and totally obscures the target's vision when they stand still.
Snipe this!

Bolas
  • Weapon Type: SRM, unguided
  • Action: Shoots three metal balls hooked together by a chain; ties up an opponent's legs.
Tag'em and bag'em.

Tactical Nuke
(from Nightwish)
  • Weapon Type: Ballistic-Arc Rocket
  • Action: Applies 60dmg to everything within 500m, 40dmg to objects 501-1000m away, 20dmg to all reproductive organs in the battlefield.
Nobody would spam these...

Rotary Gauss Rifle
(from tony katdander)
  • Description not necessary...

LRM Inferno [Mines]
(from wolf74)
  • Weapon type: LRM loaded with inferno mines
  • Action: LRM disperses multiple inferno mines upon contact; inferno mines cause little armor damage but deliver much heat to the opponent, and the thermite burns through and destroys 1 leg-mounted heatsink for every mine stepped on.
[CPU Voice] "Heatsink destroyed... Heatsin-Heatsink Destr-Heatsink Destroyed..."
[Pilot] "***?!"

Orbital Bombardment
(from Kephas)
  • Weapon Type: Satalite-Coupled Laser Designator
  • Action: Calles in a tungsten-rod kinetic energy impactor that delivers equal energy to the Tactical Nuke.
"Assault Lance Destroyed"

Autocanon Concussive Ammo
(from Pariah Devalis)
  • Weapon Type: Concussive Ammo for Autocanons
  • Action: Impacts cause excessive physical impulse and send the target reeling, but delivering little actual damage.
Use it in conjunction with other weaponsto either destroy the opposing Mech before they can land a shot, or just kill the other pilot from whiplash.

Multitube Recoilless Rifle
(from anglomanii)
  • Weapon Type: Ballistic, Multiple Independent Barrels.
  • Action: Fires a single large-caliber shot from every barrel simultaneously, albeit followed by a long reloading period.
This idea was made famous by the M50 Ontos from the VietNam war, a tracked tank-killer carrying six 106mm recoiless guns.

Radar Amplifier
  • Weapon Type: Passive Armor Add-on
  • Action: Multiplies/Amplifies your radar signature to look like a whole Lance.
They has these in WWII, slapped them on night fighters and light bombers... a logistical nightmare.

Gamma Ray Laser
(from Reno Blade)
  • Weapon Type: Anti-Personnel Laser
  • Action: Fires a 30 exahertz Gamma Ray laser that passes through cockpit glass to excite valence elctrons and generate copius free-radicals throughout the pilot's body, causing blindness, crippling neuropathy and pain, numerous cancers, multiple organ failure, and [sooner or later] death .

UrbanMech Loudspeakers
  • Weapon Type: Riot Speakers
  • Action: Loudspeakers used for crowd control, law enforcement stand-offs, environmental ctastrophies, and other urban emergencies.
To Rick Roll, or not to Rick Roll...

I'd say,

Human/Elemental Autocannon

You'll get a round for each pilot or Elemental that you subdue, and you can launch them at other targets. Then these poor sods will be armed with a wrench and a drill to take apart the next mech they land on.

Weapon Type: Sadistic
Unloaded Weight: Probably the weight of a cannon you can find in the circus?
Loaded Weight: That depends on who you stuff into the cannon.
Critical Slots: 0

Another weapon that just came to mind - Gum Autocannon:

Purpose: Spits chewing gum at joints and locks them up. Special type of gum that gets harder the hotter it gets
Critical Slots: 1-----your mouth
Weapon Type: Wet n Sticky

Mech cannon

Fixed fortified base defense weapon. It fires entire scout lances at the enemy. Urbanmechs explode on impact.

Weapon Type: Ballistic

Ammo Weight: 100+ tons. Reload-able as the ammo does have legs.

i'm thinking mech sized recoiless rifle systems... multiple venturi tubes of 2,4,8,12,16: dumbfire light weight and oneshot use only, but delivers a terrible impact, calibres ranging from about 100mm to 150 or so, might be possible to have differnt munition types HEAT, HESH, AP, cannister..

coming from the physics, i think that an ion-accelerator would be devestating.
its already used to remove cancer without destroying more than 5% of the other cells it goes trough.

if it wouldnt need such a detailed calibration, you could use it as a canon and surgically destroy internal organs / parts of humans / mechs without the need to peel through armor.

C4i computer.
Weights almost nothing and your enemy is the only one with it.
You can shoot from one end of the IS to the other and still score a critical. :D

Clan ER binary laser

uses 2 clan ER large laser cores X)

15 points of damage

head chop from 25 hexs away.

you'll need alot of heatsinks though it'll generate at least 24 heat.

Spaceship torpedos or ultra lasers/auto canons aimed and fired through scout mech support.

The LB 40-X Autocannon.

Building on the fearsome LB 20-X, the LB 40-X's main objective is not to destroy the enemy, but to drive him off the field by requiring him to roll up to 40 separate damage groupings for every successful cluster hit. Few warriors posess the stamina required to roll 80 dice and mark the damage of even one shot, let alone multiple shots over multiple turns, and weaker combatants will rapidly surrender in the face of such a weapon.

Well, I guess that would only work in the board game.. :D

How about a Mech-sized Scythe for a melee weapon... you just run up to someone and slice their leg clean off.

Heh, put this on an engine-maxed Atlas and call it the Grim Reaper variant.

'Tiss only a flesh wound...

Indeed it is, and it's one of my favourite weapons too, but damage from HAGs is divided into 5-point groupings while damage from LBX ACs is divided into 1-point groupings. So while we're on the subject of weapons being evil and annoying, an LBX AC of the same size would be significantly more so...

I like the chewing gum missiles, but how about Explanding Polyurethane Foam missiles?

Slap a couple of these on someone and watch the entire front-side of their Mech slowly become engulfed in expansive, opaque adhesive foam and black-out their cockpit...

poisoned rations. all mechwarriors must afk from their mech pits every 5minutes for 10mins before returning to battle complaining of belly aches and sore arses.

Inferno LRM-20s. Lots of them...
Otherwise, Inferno MRM-40s. And, again, lots of them :D
