It would be nice to be able to reconnect to a match if for some reason you were kicked from the game... i.e. Your playing and you all of a sudden end up back at the mechlab. There are other games out their that feature this, and I think it would be a nice addition.

This is more than something that "would be nice", this is integral. Right now, in the Beta, I don't mind so much; C-bills will be re-set, etc. and I've been in betas before, I'm used to the bugs. Whatever. But so help me if I'm going to pay expenses for a match I was wrongly D/c'd from and couldn't reconnect to. I'm pretty sure everyone else is with me.

So please, before you start implementing the punishments for quitting a match, make sure people won't be unfairly subjected to them.

The devs have said that the problem is that from the server end there is no way to determine a crash from a plug pull.

I don't really see the difference. Offering the player the option to reconnect to disconnected games immediately fixing some of the many bugs I've encountered. We run groups a lot and when one player (especially in 8's) disconnects because of one of the many bugs not being addressed yet, it kills the gameplay, for both teams. I don't really see how someone could exploit this if implemented. I hope they're working on something along these lines.

I've raged many a time because my game would go poof at the loading screen, and then my mech would be in game when I logged back in. It is a very useful feature, its even used by World of Tanks (I know, another WoT comparison) and has saved me so much grief.

Like I said earlier I just can't come up with a single reason how this could possibly be exploited. This should be a top priority IMO, this alone would solve many of the bugs they may not even know how to began to work a fix for. Granted a temp fix, but even that is better than the current system.

Many F2P games allow you to renter a match. Heck the game already says "this mech still in a match" Great.. Let me join that match then. Since they can't fix the yellow hud bug.. or the broken radar bug.. Or the 4 FPS bug.. They should allow us to reset the client and get back into our match.

Plus a million to this. I crash about one in five launches, and while I own a second mech so I can just drop in that, it's really frustrating to come back from piloting my Hunch to find a 140k repair bill for my 9M Awesome on a game where I never even got to the loading screen. On the other end of this, it's just so frustrating to launch into a game only to find you have an Awesome or Atlas MIA, meaning you're facing down 80-100 tons more mech than your team has.

I'm not sure if it even matters if the disconnect was a plug pull or crash. You still take damage even when disconnected, so the advantage to pulling the plug out of your rig is... so you can rejoin into a trashed mech?

It seems like it should be rather easy to do seeing as a number of multiplayer games already do this. Do they not have a comment on this somewhere?

i think that "crash to desktop" will be reduced one day, anyway i really like to have the ability to riconnect in case of problem

It was mentioned (in one of the Q&A's i think) that they are looking into the ability to rejoin matches you've been DC'd from, so they are aware of it and (if possible) we will get this eventually.

I hate ctd and then watching my mech getting stripped to pieces on my husband's screen :lol:
It would be great to just quickly load back in and join in with the battle.

It matters not that a person may drop out of a match on purpose or by bug. The player's mech is still in the match and able to be targeted by enemies. However, if a player's client bugged and it caused them to drop from the match, then there's no way for an honest player to get back in and help their team. Due to the fact that the mech is still in the game and able to be destroyed by the other team, any reason to not enable this is pure ignorance.

Agree 100%%. There needs to be the ability to rejoin a match if you've dc'd.

The only possible exploit I can conceive is if the session is p2p and connecting / reconnecting causes everyone to lag for a second.. but, if you limit this to say... 3 reconnects per match, it would be the solution we are looking for to the hud bug, and a godsend to anyone with intermittent wifi dropouts.

This is my second post, I believe it's important because with this fix, the gamebreaking hud bugs could be "soft patched" in this way. I therefore propose the devs elevate this to the top of the priority list, behind fixing the bugs, and adding new content (hey, I know it's fun to make new bugs, but try fixing them once in awhile, eh?).

Just my opinion, anyway.

The game isn't P2P, so there should be no / minimal lag from someone rejoining. I think it is more of a coding thing at this point, and the Devs are looking into it. I don't think it is top of their priority list, as they are pushing for a lot of other things (UI 2.0, CW, etc) but at least it is on their radar now :D

I WANT TO HAVE A RECONNECT BUTTON!!!!!

It is so annoying if you are disconnected very often and you can't reconnect. I would NEVER do it on purpose, but if you are running with a group it is so no fun!!!!!
