so here is The Mad Dog, i had this model laying arround since about 2007/8 and i decided to improve on it since my modeling skills had improved since then.
programs i used
3D Studio Max
Mudbox
Lightwave
Photshop
constructive critisism is welcome
Ok so this is the orignal Mad Dog from an old Lightwave render.
started the textureing process using mudbox i think the textures come out really well hope you guys like it
sorry for the low Resolution, i like to keep it low for a WIP render.
i'm a Ghost Bear fan my self but i felt like makeing this for Smoke Jaguars 7the Jagur dragoons, i couldnt find a colour scheme for them so i used what i felt portrayed the jagaurs best.
i have some plans for this mech maybe a battle scene
the scene is a basic Render set up with 2 lights 1 Sky light to give the high quality mental ray render and an Omni light to simply add a little more interesting light.
again constructive critisim welcome, enjoy

MW4? Don't say that! I really didn't like that model, I prefer the older style, but you do have a good point about the arms. They could use some reinforcement around the base of the barrels. Great work though Kodiak, I can't wait to see more of the Masakari!

The Kodiak look to much like the ugly MW4-imple, but the pure rendering is very good. Well done Mr.!

thanks i see what your saying but i'm trying to stick to the classic battletech style, the lower arms where originaly bigger but i had reduced them to relate more to the Resculpted Mad Dog miniture.

thanks very much i thinking of getting some higher resolution renders done over the remainder of the weekend, you cant really see the fine detail on the texture at this low resolution.

the other images don't really allow you to see the smaller detail since they are scaled down when uploaded to imageshack, so i hope you guys enjoy this HD render (1920x1080)

I really like the mist camo. That could be a Mad Dog of "The Mistweavers" (Beta Galaxy) of Clan Smoke Jaguar.
Nice. Well done, Sir!
Edit: Similar paintings to this Gargoyle of Clan Smoke Jaguar's Beta Galaxy.

anyway started to add some minor details and started to render out some normal maps for the minor details, also gave the cockpit a better gradiant texture with a reflection map.
these normals are just a rough draft at the moment also sorry about the bad lighting on the second image.
constructive crtisism is welcome. hope you guys enjoy it.
