I've spent probably too long tonight drawing up a formation for the Taurian Fleet - from both a top down and head on view. Please use these to give prospective when writing ship movements - I'll try to update it as the fleets intermingle. Tomorrow I'll try to make a SLDF analogue, including ship wreckage from downed ships. I won't do ASF or drop ships so just have fun with those. Enjoy!

Makes me wonder how GW got so far into the formation though - methinks there'll be a lot of fighters moving his way *very* soon.

Thom, which one are your marines heading for? I need to know so I can describe dogfighting around them.

He followed the missiles in Rogue, you know the ones that fired wave after wave at the Concordts. From the heads on prospective should be very easy to imagine how he did it. You've picked on him enough for right now, so be nice.
@ Nomad a very fine job sir. Why is the sun there though?

Plus, if you're going to board and capture a ship, are you going to go for the leettle screening destroyer out the front, or a juicier target?
Also, he's playing marines, so while the rest of us are making opening shots and pew pew noises, GW gets to describe...a long boring (except for the occasional brief moment of intense panic) space flight. And then get to the interesting bit of his role play. Or, y'know, he could just get the boring bits done and move onto the good bits.
Don't worry, the 117th are ready to go to town on your fighters. I didn't decide to play an ASF wing for nothing. And everytime I slip up, one of Thom's guys dies!

It's to show scale. The Taurians have really big ships!

And when I get there.
To quote from someone: "This is the plan? There's no good in the plan. There's no good in this plan! The plan sucks!"
I would be the worst space marine ever.
Seriously though, I was half joking, since obviously GW didn't know how far in to the formation it was. One of those moments where you suddenly go 'Oh sh*t, we're here? Really? How the f*ck did we get here?"
You guys seriously have no idea how often my PnP RP group from the last three years has accidently tripped over the plot, rather than actually followed it...
But yeah, GW you're actually in the middle of all the things ever, SLDF tactics call for the majority of the ASFs to be out in front of the fleet with about a quarter to a third providing close defence. Depending on what's close to you could allow you to do some strafing with those Stukas and Samurai on the big ships (Most have no ** systems) or simply try to fight your way out.
I WAS TRYING TO PROVIDE IDEAS AND ROLEPLAYING HOOKS GUYS GAWD. Stupid text based communication medium and natural offensive tendencies...

Just posted on Steel and Snow, and attempting to catch up with the other RPs as well. Wish me luck!
Glad it's going so well you All the hope and best wished it continues. I might be heading to Oregon soon on a wing and a prayer, so who knows we might be state neighbors, soon

BTW I got a post coming up soon from the Commodore but waiting for Nomad to post the fleet. We have our tail turned to allow wolf his launch and then like most good carrier are falling back and giving ourselves distance from the fleet.

Thank you for your kind words, Sir. Seriously compliments always brighten my day. And I'm not kidding either I was eyeballing those frigates thinking I was gonna have to have that taxi weave through all that death and destruction to get to one, so I started looking over the closer ships and that name stood out like it was in florescent pink strobing lights, with a sign in neon green next to it reading 'Look here, Funker!'
I had to go for it!
