Sorry for the day late update my new wide format printer showed up a day early so it's been a little crazy here but it means vinyl day is moving ever closer (gotta get some actual work done with it first though) here is a preview of some stuff to come

This just came in I will be posting pictures and a full review of it later

Annnnd then theres this addition to my monitor setup

Psych! thats just here to complete another triple monitor setup in the house :)

On a unrelated note I had someone just commission a budget build that will be using a quad core Llano Proc which I am excited about as I have yet to use one!

Got bored last night so I flashed my 6950 to a 6970, runs like a dream! Also overclocked my new 2700k to 5.0 at 1.280 rock solid, pretty happy with that. Feel like i am getting bored with intel though :)

Ok well my buddy is running behind with the CAD work at the moment so I am taking a whack at it. Using Free CAD this is what I got together tonight (I have never used any form of CAD before)

Basic model of the area of the desk I am working with the green area will be hinged and the entire PC will be mounted underneath trapdoor style.I have mobo tray and back I salvaged from a LanCool Case.

This will be mounted to the bottom of the highlighted piece of desktop. More CAD stuff to come as soon as I figure out how to make it :)

Just realised that I haven't posted up any good pics of the area that I will be installing the PC into. Here it is the area is about 30x19.25 on the outer dimensions.

The goal is to have 2 shelves for the surround sound, XBOX 360 and PS3 with fans cooling them and the computer hanging above.

I can't wait to get my spare room emptied of all the stuff I am storing for a friend so I can do a similar set up!

BTW your set up is looking AWESOME!

This is redonkulous. Really enjoying following this project. As someone who moves around a lot I can't imagine building something so massive and permanent.

Hey Vincent,

With all the ovens you're stacking ontop of eachother... please please please ensure you do a realy good job with the ventilation and cooling in there or you'll burn out ur stuff in no time.

Something about when i was in highschool, and the IT department decided since they just got a new computer room, they'd put the computers in a safe place as the students vandalise them like nothing, as in blatantly destroying the machines or its working when they walk in and when they walk in it wont boot as it no longer had any ram kinda deal. Just noting the room was airconditioned as well.

So they made an enclosed area within each desk that would seat the actual computer, real real small hole up the back that only just fit out all the cables and a meshed area with 1 fan pulling the heat from inside to outside the enclosed area.

The computers in that room lasted 6 months. The ones that survived were sent to the people that the IT department hated most, and the next lot of PC's in that room were funnily enough, back ontop of the desks!

Heat + Enclosed Space, even with some cooling = disaster waiting to happen. Please keep this in mind as you do this bit

A little better CAD model the bottom shelf is a piece of ply thats already there, while the other 2 with be a rubber coated wire mesh for maximum airflow. Bottom is Surround sound Head Unit then Xbox360 Slim then Big fat oldschool PS3 next this to work on is doors, fans and PC placement.

Posted Image

Yeah I plan on at least 4 200mm fans but I might go 6 depending on budget ect... and the PC itself will be water cooled (hopefully we will see where my budget lands) Also the PS3 and Xbox should almost never be running at the same time and with the mesh shelving that should really improve the airflow.

Looks nice. Have you thought about water cooling for a setup like this?
