I was going to scoop Ghost (again) but I'll let ya'll look it up (EDIT: I totally Ninja Scooped him. ZING)

".....Dictum Honorarium, which spells out the codes of conduct for Kurita citizens."

"A massive tome comprising many volumes, the Dictum Honorium would require several lifetimes to master. It spells out in fine detail the code of conduct for all citizens of the Draconis Combine, from the Coordinator to his Samurai to the lowest Unproductive. Due to its length and general impenetrability, few manage to read more than a few pages, and the Dictum has little actual effect on daily life. Several passages, such as the special rules allowing the taking (instead of summary execution) of prisoners of war valuable to military intelligence and ransom are kept secret from the public."

Look in the House Kurita resource book ;)

"Dictum Honarium" isn't that ancient Latin? Odd that the name for the code of conduct for Kuritan citizens would be in ancient Latin.

I was right... the rest doesn't matter. ;)

Are there any examples of that "satiric version"? Seems like a funny read. :P

I'm sure there's a code somewhere in there that says you can't laugh on the battlefield...

...or, as least, if you do, you have to be moving your lips both before and long after you make the laughing sound.

Dictum Honourium

I know most of you are Fed Suns yokels, but please, for the love of Joshua, quote the Captain-General's English correctly ;)

Ahh, despite House Marik's trouble's keeping the FWL together as one nation (like herding cats), I see there is hope for some of it's warriors yet. Honor requires one to have good grammar. On the battlefield, it is necessary that a warrior's communications are easilly understood!

The Dictum Honourium is an excellent code of conduct, I read a passage every night before I go to sleep.

Hmm I think the current Captain-General has done a stirling job, and the FWL has been at peace with our arch-enemies the FWL now for more than a decade.

Our output is up across the board and projections are good for a very prosperous next half-century.

By the way, can we interest you in some refit kits? We do a nice special on those Wolverines and Phoenix Hawks you Draconis chaps enjoy so much.

But please don't ask about the new Hunchback. Its... um... currently undergoing evaluation tests!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honour

There are two correct spellings for honor. It mainly depends on how your home planet spells it. For instance, my homeworld of New Samarkand (and specifically my hometown of Bellecon) was mainly colonized by North Americans, who spelled honor without a u.

So know what you're talking about before deriding someone.

As the Dictum Honourium is a specific book, it has only one spelling, honor (or) honour however have two. The Dictum Honourium mentions this in paragrah 7 page 2049, under the chapter based upon variations in grammar.

I quote:

Quote

"Honor or Honour are both correct spellings of the proper conduct, and are based on terran cultural differences, so long as the conduct is followed properly, each spelling is correct and may be used interchangeably. In fact, it is a matter of pride that the Draconis Combine is so welcoming to cultural diversity"

AWESOME!!!! I found this right next to...

This is a basic recipe for wonton with a pork and shrimp filling. Deep-fry the wonton or boil in soup as desired. For extra flavor, use fresh water chestnuts.

Yields about 35 - 40 wonton

I thought imitation was the most sincere form of flattery, and writing a parody of someone's work just brings more attention to their work.

Kurita should be thankful that the Commonwealth Press are keeping the Dictum Honourium culturally-relevant and popular.
