Blake Cripe was a good kid, i never really talked to him ( Which now i seriously regret) but he once told me that he looks up to me because of i am headed to bootcamp June. Because of rheumatoid arthritis he was unable to have his dream in being in the military. It's a sad day and my prayers go out to Blake and his family

(In case your curious how i know him, i'm Guardian Wolf's older brother and we attend the same school)

RIP Blake.

It's probably not my place to say so, but...
...At least he chose his time and place of passing.
I can only hope that no regrets and no pain will be known to him - may he rest in peace.

I'm truly sorry to hear of this Guardian, my thoughts are with you, yours and his. Sorry for the late reply, I didn't find this thread until I searched the name in the Wednesday Hotdrop Bonus. I don't know if you've seen it, but I hope you like how many of us who didn't know him will picture and imagine him:

It can be tough to watch a loved one who lives in pain that cant be treated, and as much as it hurts to see them gone its almost a relief that they will no longer suffer.

Stay strong mate.

He was a very good friend. I regret not hanging out during the school year as much as we did during the summer. We shared alot of good memories that i will cherish forever. He has always wanted to run and i garauntee that is what he is doing now. He was born on the same day as his grandfather and has also died the same day as well. I wont forget him, he will definently be remembered.

Guardian Wolf, TeddyBear, StrikingFalcon, and Kiana,

You have my deepest sympathies. I'll be praying for you IRL. I have been where you are, and I miss Jon still, 15 years later. There are people around you who truly care for you, and your loss; lean on them. May our Brother Blake find peace in the next life. May you find peace in this one. I weep with you.

Strength and Honor! Mercy, Grace and Peace!

Night hangs on the city like a blanket on a cage

A sacrifice prepared

Laughter lies on faces where the sun has never shone

The fear of life is strong

We are waiting in the forest deep and dark behind the wall

What is hidden in our hearts

Absolves of all worry when our fate is in the hands

Of a demon or a god

Porroh man come from the inside of time

Takes his dust from a moving line

On our knees with our eyes on the ground

Those once lost have now been found

Save us from all worldly pain

Save us from the glowing rain

Save us all from love and hope

May Blake R.I.P.

And I would add, that if any of you are struggling with this, look around you in real life. You can see how many cared for Blake; I promise, they care for you too. If you need help, ask. If you need to talk, please do.

For what little it's worth, you have my thoughts in this time of grief. Remember the good times, and be grateful for them. Sounds like he had a rough time of it, but at least he had a good friend.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Thats really cool dude : )
OT im really sorry man that sucks

I know this was on the main page, but I'm reposting it here because I think this is where it belongs...

Quote

On a much more sad note, the following is a special report on the final hours of one of the universes best and most courageous 'MechWarriors. Inner Sphere News has obtained a writeup of his final hours.

“Get them on the ship, I don’t care how!”
His heat in the red-line, he kept moving left and right, blocking any enemy forward movement. His frontal armour was shredded, nearly gone. His left arm lay on the ground somewhere behind him, the unfortunate recipient of a PPC shot.
“Sir you need to withdraw, we’re the last transport out. The enem-“
“I withdraw and no-one makes it off this rock. You worry about loading those civvies and that recon lance, I’ll worry about these ‘Mechs!” Blake growled.
A PPC and three large lasers smashed into a Jenner that poked its head over a hill, too close to the Leopard dropship on the ground. Blake fired three bursts as well, the first two shredded the left leg, the final pushed it over as the joint collapsed. Blake could see the ‘Mechbay of the Leopard even from here as he glanced back – they were tossing out anything they could to make room for hurt and hungry children… He turned back to the battle.
The enemy ‘Mechs, likely assuming they were facing a well dug in, larger force, were waiting before they assaulted his position. The Leopards PPC’s certainly added to that theory. Perfect, he thought, grinning.
Four enemy ‘Mechs – two lights and two mediums – never saw him coming as he flanked them to the right. He lowered the left shoulder of his Atlas, crashing into a Jenner, crushing its canopy between his shoulder and fist. Slow to react, the other pilots could only watch in terror as he turned, then charged into a Centurion, crushing its left arm and toppling it over. With a disgusted sneer he fired his AC/20’s through the cockpit and stepped on its chest, collapsing it as he strode through the shower of metal.
“Sir, we’ve completed boarding, but we think we’ve made room for you to-“
“Belay that, you take off now.”
Silence stretched on the line before the radio came to life again.
“You’ll be remembered for this, Commander Cripes.”
“Shut up and get out of here” was the only reply.
As the radio operator looking down, Leopard lifting through the atmosphere and still firing it’s weapons in support, the last thing anyone saw of Commander Blake ‘Hell Fist’ Cripes was his ‘Mechs right fist colliding with a Centurion, crushing what was left of its AC-ruined torso armour, as a rain of LRM’s fell upon him.

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

I can only offer the words of Thomas Gray--words that have brought me at least a bit of peace in times of sorrow:

"Large was his bounty, and his soul sincere,
Heaven did a recompense as largely send:
He gave to Misery all he had, a tear,
He gained from Heaven ('twas all he wished) a friend.

No farther seek his merits to disclose,
Or draw his frailties from their dread abode,
(There they alike in trembling hope repose)
The bosom of his Father and his God."

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Guardian, and I sincerely hope that Blake's light burns on forever in your memory. I've been silent out of respect since I read your post, and am quite touched that you chose to share this with us. May he live forever in your thoughts, and may he be seen as a pillar of strength in times of need. Losing those you care for is hard, but in addition to those around you, it seems you have the sincere support of the MWO pilots.
Rest in peace, Blake Cripe. May your soul burn brighter than the brightest stars, and guide your loved ones home.
