An Entry With a Bang can be interesting, though I think it depends on personal taste how one will receive it, and I think there are better Battletech fan fics out there. Anyone have any short story recommendations for people who may not have the time to read through novella/novel length stories? I haven't really read through any in a while, but if I have the chance this weekend I might go searching for some and post any I find particularly interesting.

I don't know what I find more amusing, the nature of this topic and the OP's name or my failure to not notice this thread in the first place. Just to consolidate.

Soumi Warders: A mercenary outfit during the clan invasion period. A character and plot driven story with lots of build up and emotional payoffs. Some of the best interweaving of this unit into the universe that doesn't break any established history but makes it feel like it all happened with some minor but still known canon characters.

With Impatient Fury, Winter Comes:

Clan Ice Hellion ignores the ruling of the Grand Council and launch an invasion of the Inner Sphere before Wolf's Dragoons arrive. It's early yet, but it looks like it's going to go about as well as you would think one Clan invading the Inner Sphere would go.

I bet there is still a ton of buried stuff from the old rec.games.mecha (I think that was the correct name) newsgroup on Usenet to be rediscovered. If my memory serves me right, we had even vintage BT authors like Michael Stackpole posting there on occasion (not necessarily stories though). Let's hope not all that stuff is lost forever (personally got no clue how to retrieve that). Although it seems to be like from the computer stone age by now... :)

Anyone know how often 'The Slackers of the Inner Sphere' updates? Last post was August, and it looks like the first chapter was in 2005. I was enjoying that, I want more!

Last I looked Starbug was rewriting his Bolo/WH40K crossover and had just started a Fable II/Lord of the Rings crossover. I'm not a fan of most of his stuff, but he does have a Deep Periphery kingdom timeline I like. I'll see if I can get you a link.

Edit: Here you go. http://ourbattletech...olonies-region/

Thanks, I'll have a look at it when I'm not completely KIA - I've been up for nearly 40 hours now working on university stuff, I'm dying. Just checking emails to slowly uncoil and calm my brain...

A Stitch In Time:
When the founders of the Star League imagined their future, they never expected to meet the 31st century Periphery: six powerful nations with no fond recollection of their long-ago subjugation by the Star League.

It's to much of a forgone conclusion for my taste, but it's still more great stuff from drakensis.

Ghost Riders:
In the aftermath of the most devastating war in history, a mixed force including the last descendants of some of Earth's most ancient military units vanishes without a trace. More than two centuries later it reappears above an agri-world named Planting.

Ghosts of the Future's Past:
TH-X1138 is lost in time. Their first battle with the Clans was a victory, but at heavy cost. As the Inner Sphere turns a cautious eye towards them, other forces are moving and Seeker Atalanta continues a quest that may lead to peace, dishonor, or worse.

Lets pop this thing back to the top shall we.

First in awesome news, Cannonshop has returned from beyond with more Ngo stuff. This time it's based off events from a forum game so we know crazy stuff is going to go down.
A Sickness (Ngoverse/FGC'62-91 tie-in)

A Singular Event (FGC translation)

"Redneck" (FGC based AU)

Be aware that in classic Cannonshop fashion that updates will come fast and furius and that new threads can be started all the time. In fact I hadn't even noticed Redneck untill I posted this. Great stuff glad to see him back after a year of silence.

How could I have forgoten to rec some stuff by the estimbleCray? Well let me fix that.
And Please Sign In Blood
Janos Marik considers a unusual offer.
I Regret To Inform You...

These two stories are basiclly Hanse Davion wins, Flawless Victory. All with the stroke of a pen.

Now I've got to go read, "Redneck."
