Shot in the dark here, but I don't think CryEngine 3 supports OSX in the first place.

If you want to play games, don't get an Apple computer.

Ditto, apple computers are really for applications other than gaming.

Unfortunately for Apple users, CryEngine 3 doesn't look like it will work on OSX.

Try for yourself: http://mycryengine.com/ (Free download of non-commercial use CryEngine 3)

DX9/10 (does it go up to 11).

Good luck with that, or you could just install windows via Wine or dual boot it in an intel mac.

and be up and playing in about 20 min.

I just don't think your stock issue macbooks and imacs have the GPU to handle such new games. Sure they can handle halflife 2 engine and WoW, but they just aren't the same as CryEngine 3.

I guess what I'm saying is they'd be spending and awful lot of time getting it to work, with very few who could actually run it. That just doesn't make dollars and sense.

Incorrect, I will give 100% internet guarantees that stock intel macs will be able to play this game...just not on uber awesome omg settings.

Kaemon has it... just get a copy of windows, set up boot camp, and play windows games on your mac.

the devs never said they would never support DESKTOPS using MAC OS....they just said this would be for PC at launch.

I imagine this game can and will be played anywhere on anything once they see they can expand their horizons.

but first things first.

Extremely unlikely. Cryengine 3 does not support OSX. It does support xbox 360. That would be a far more likely port.

Why does PC vs. Mac remind me of IS vs. Clan?

PC - Universal, cheaper and easy to upgrade/fix when it breaks, like most of the Inner Sphere.

Mac - Born in a factory, shipped out, used - and when it dies, you go and order a brand new one... just like a test-tube pilot... err... Clanner.

As stated above, the CryENGINE3 does not support OSX and we have also stated that we will not be pursuing OSX at this time.
