Got both of these, and will be returning both.
HMZ is way too uncomfortable. There are tons of mods you can do to make it better, but $800 for something you have to figure out how to make comfortable doesn't quite work.
I would have actually put the time to fit it, except that, with glasses, the "sweet spot" is just too small; so unless the unit is PERFECTLY set on my head, too much of it was out of focus
TrackIR 5 seems like it would be cool, but the game has to be configured to work with it (will MWO?!?). Otherwise, the "fix" is a little cumbersome and not really optimal, especially for $150.
Anyways, both a bit disappointing; and I'm out shipping costs (I overnighted the HMZ ).
Guess I'll wait for next gen (or 2) on these.
In the meantime, will check out NVidia's 3D system.
My PC is 3 years old. It will be getting completely updated with "all the works" just for MWO.

They said there will be freelook. That's all you need to be "configured" for TrackIR. Plus another article it was confirmed supported. So there's that.
HMZ= Insanity on a level I'm not ready for.

True... try the Rise of Flight free to play Sim. (Completely awesome, recommend to everyone btw) and see you how like TrackIR then.
OR Falcon4.0 BMS, also free if you know magic.

thanks for your little testing.
how does trackIR work, if you need to watch the monitor in front of you?
i guess it only makes sense with the glasses then?
Thinking about a 3rd monitor and trackIR, or just a hughe TV instead... hmmmm

i wish i had the chance to actually test the HMZ-T1 before i decide wether or not to buy one <.<
Also, Zeiss will be doing another Version of the 3D-Glasses too. With Built in Track-IR i think.
Less resolution than the Sony version(neglible i think) but can be used on the go with a battery pack . .

I just got TrackIR and have tried it out in Rise of Flight And Arma II and I love it. Well worth the dollars for me. Like Technoviking said, try out Rise of Flight and while you're at it try it out with Arma II-both are free demos.
As far as MW:O I'm feeling confident that it will be included (hoepfully at launch, but if not I would expect it to be added).

Also, as I thought about it, I think a HUGE problem with just the HMZ (without some sort of head tracker) is that you can't physically zoom in to get a closer look. Your head is basically captured at a fixed distance and fixed focal point. I think, if anything, that might have been the thing that annoyed me the most.
Anyways, probably going to look at the ATI/NVidia 3D solutions. The ATI multiple monitors setup looks extremely interesting, but hellaexpensive if I actually had to get 3 $400-$600 monitors In many respects, a working 3D head tracker, even if it costs $1000 or even $1500 is a cheaper and better solution - as long as it really delivers...

did anyone try this with one of the old MW games?
seem they are not included in the supported list, but if you could assign the viewpoint key/mouse controls to the trackir, it maybe worth?
