Don't know if it's been already suggested or is planned so I'll lay it anyway.(search failed me)

Currently chain fire just fires weapons in a single group 1 by 1 at a hardcoded frequency so I'm guessing people would benefit from more settings.

What I'd suggest are chain fire settings for each group which include the changeable frequency between each weapon discharge. Something like the macros in keyboards and mouses.(action delay action etc.)

Also the ability to set the order of weapons fired. It may sound pointless but sometimes you'd like to give priority to some weapons in a chain fire so that if during the chain fire enemy mech gets behind cover, at least the powerful weapons in the chain fire hit, since one still can't configure the order of weapons in the ingame list. I haven't tried fiddling with the config files in the profile folder.
Along with the order also the option to automatically reset the chain fire sequence if stopped before the last weapon in the group was fired.

Sounds like you're talking about chain fire instead of Alpha striking... sure you're not confusing 'backspace'-turns chain fire on/off with the '/'-default Alpha Strike key??

huh funny, I overlooked the name of the key in the keybind and just took it as "backspace".

well the suggestion still stands for chain fire, changed the title and references accordingly.

i would agree, firing all weapons in a group seems silly to me
i should have to click to fire each weapon one at a time

sure i can configure my keyboard for each group to fire 1 at a time...
or mouse

i know there are key controls like that , that can be setup.
guess i need a fancy joystick then :)

I'm going to necro this and add that the wait time between chain fire shots should be adjustable. Currently AC/2s chain fire is slower than it could be when grouped in multiples of 4+.

Necro'ing the thread once again because I feel this has greater relevence now with the announced changes to boating. Would it be possible to get some kind of "sub-grouping" to use with chain fire? Right now say I have a 6 PPC stalker. With the changes being made, I either have a huge heat penalty for firing them all in one group, have to use up weapon groupings putting them all in different groups, or just fire them one at a time via Chain. What I would like is to put all those 6 PPCs in one group so all my PPCs are still on say mouse button 2, but then have them subdivided into groups of 3 and 3 so that chain fire will fire 3 at a time instead of one and I won't have to worry about the whole heat scale thing. Could even call it something else like "Linked Fire" or something.
