I don't have a beast of a machine but it is a little more jerky. Also I've notice everyone pings(ms) has gone a little bit higher normal. I thought I was the only one. :) Oh and just a moment ago I CTD.

Performance issues on my rig as well. I had to lower resolution and drop graphics settings to low. I was running full resolution with ultra settings before this patch.

Issues here too. I was maxed at around 40/50 fps before, now i'm at medium/low at 20/30. I was hoping for the performance to get better with the patch, not worse.

I'm experiencing about the same drop in performance, hopefully next week will get better.

How do you check for fps?

Personally, I don't know if my performance has been improved slightly or if it's still the same as it was before the patch; it runs just as fast now, at 30 FPS, but with higher quality models, textures and particles (I usually try to keep those at the minimal that is possible using a custom configuration file...) though it did require me to reset my switchable graphics configuration.

Anyone on a machine with both onboard and dedicated graphics are recomended to try the same, especially if you know you should be getting a very high FPS rate but are only seeing single-digit performance.
Your computer is probably running MWO's graphics on your low-end, integrated GPU.

Press F9 on a Windows PC and a framerate counter should appear high on the left portion of the screen.

FX-4100/HD6770/8gRAM; My framerates dropped from steady 35's down to 25's with the earlier Oct patch..This Oct25'th one has further dropped me down a bit below the 20's so I had to lower my resolution again. In September I was playing smooth on VERYhigh settings @1080, Oct9 put me down to high @900x1600, Now I'm needing a couple effects lowered to mid @720x1280.

I am running an enhanced GTX 670 and other craziness. I can still max everything out with very good fps, but things do seem slightly choppier. I hope this gets fixed. GTX 670 / 680 should be a choice, not a necessity...

Wow, I'm glad to know that the performance issues are the result of a patch gone wrong.

With V-sync enabled, my OC'd Radeon 6850 (which isn't a beast at ancient DX9 and a mid-range card besides) goes from 40-60 FPS at 1920*1080 with settings at medium. Low settings give identical results.

2 of the other computers we use to play the game sport DX9/10 era GPUs and we get 4 FPS max (!!!) on one and ~30 FPS max on the other, with all settings set to low and the resolution set to 1024*768. A game running on DX9 should not be this taxing on DX9 era hardware, and if it is, I believe that it should come with a way to "tone it down" so that it is playable on hardware from that time period.

(I usually try to keep those at the minimal that is possible using a custom configuration file...)

Would you please elaborate?

Yeah... also I had 10-to-15 fps drop while fighting... on clear field I have the usual 40-50 fps I was getting before patch... tried to disable antialias and reduce a bit if ppostprocessing effects but with no success.. seems i'll have to lower resolution or something

Core i7 2600, 16GB RAM, Radeon HD 5850
-> framerate dropped from 50-60 prepatch to 35-45 post patch
-> Settings on Very High, Vsync Disabled

As I understand it, V-Sync is doing exactly that which it is supposed to do; limit your framerate to match your monitor's current refresh rate, unless, of course, you know for sure that it is much higher than 60Hz.
Though it seems that some users can't actually disable V-Sync through the client, or at leas that's what they've been saying.

I don't know what is there to detail.

My custom user.cfg disabled textures and details on all 'Mechs, at all distances, besides reducing shadow quality; it's just not working since the last patch, but, then again, I've noticed no FPS loss, which means that either performance in general has been improved upon or that those things had little to no impact on FPS in the first place.

I have V-Sync on purposefully as in other games I get serious tearing issues at times with it off. I've decided to throw FPS bragging rights under the bus for smooth-as-silk presentation @ 60 fps.

The problem is that, for a DX9 game, I should be always at 60 FPS as my hardware, while not the best in the modern era (and geared more towards DX11; it is outscored in DX9/10 tasks by the 5800 series) is still a LOT better than the ancient tech of the DX9 era. That's Xbox 360 grade hardware. As good as MWO looks, I've played other games that look better with solid 60 FPS w/VSYNC. Are we experiencing the limits of DX9 here, because games with furthered versions of DX look better and have higher framerates.

That the game, even on the lowest settings, runs like crap on DX9 era hardware as well is telling IMO. Additionally I find it odd that the game insists that DX9/10 era GPUs are "unrecognized and unsupported". There's a lot wrong with that.

Graphics are great, but I'd like to have some increased playability first. I'd like to see some jaw-dropping visuals in MWO but I'd have it look like the ~DX7 era graphics of MW4:Mercenaries first if it guaranteed more widespread playability. MWO might run on Cryengine but it doesn't need to rack up a Crysis-like reputation. I'm not sure whether its the devs or the Cryengine itself but support for older hardware is lacking. Half jokingly, I wouldn't be adverse to a "MW4:Mercs" graphical setting that took the "low" that is currently in the settings and made it lower...a lot lower :)

I7 2600K, GTX680 OC, 16 GB

The settings are maxed @ 1920x1080 and I got FPS around 80 (+/- 20) before the patch. Now I get 60 FPS with almost no drop under 50 FPS.

BUT the 4FPS-bug on Forest Colony is gone!

:)

Im getting 10-15pfs now, down from 25-30, and thats all on LOW. If I drop the res down from 1920 to 1280 i max out at 20pfs... Unplayable!

I hope this gets fixed soon.

Very light drop is performance, but more-so an issue with the fact that when aiming weapons now the amount you have to lead your aim has almost doubled.

It is way too hard to use Ballistic weapons because getting a hit to register is just impossible.

Why is it BF3 devs can compensate for ping, but we have to aim as if we're playing on a 56k modem?

Was looking forward to playing this patch after seeing the notes this morning. Spent an hour in the mechlab (which was incredibly non-responsive compared to before), then finally launched, and ouch, unplayable FPS down around 5-10... I play on a high-end *non-gaming* laptop, but MWO used to work fine on low settings, now even that is undoable. Apparently I'm not the only one. Awaiting next patch...

EDIT: NM, used the laptop manual video card fix and it worked! Back to normal now...
