Yeah, this is because closed beta players are well aware that no trial mechs have AMS. So lrm for the win I guess.

Didn't think about that part, guess I should try it.

Just kidding.

When the netcode is fixed, you'll see more people using direct fire weapons.

And no trial mechs with AMS. Not good.

LRMs are also HORRIBLY expensive. Anyone piloting a non-trial LRM boat will find 100K+ rearm bills alone.

If you need tips on how to avoid LRMs and deal with LRM-heavy teams, then I (or another experienced pilot) can give you some vital tips. Most of them require teamwork, though - especially to deal with the LRM-heavy teams - so you'll only get so far if your herp-derp teammates don't know how to handle them or work together to take them down.

Suggest joining us on the Comstar Relay EU or NA teamspeak servers. The EU one was up first and most of us still play there. We'll show yah the ropes.

Except you don't actually have to buy ammo for lrms. That's right, try it some time. You get 75% for free. Soooo, just load up a little extra and never pay for lrm ammo.

Eh. When I used to boat, I would plow through most of my reserves. The first 25% is free - the other 50-60% I used isn't. I also deal out a boatload of damage, too, so it balanced out, but the wild repair costs on most boats + the ammo costs... naw, man. Expensive as ****.

No trial mechs have AMS? O_o... really?
Granted... AMS really doesn't do much in the long run. It only takes off 5 missiles per batch. Tactics & placement mean ALOT more.

and no... 25% is free. Not 75%

i won't use lrms not my cup of tea (feels like cheating) wich is odd since it takes some skill to make them work right.

I personally don't have much issue with LRM's killing me. Sure I get slammed in the face a couple times every match but thats pretty normal especially when AMS runs out of ammo. But your offer is very very generous and we need more people offering help like this to the newbies. We need more pilots like you instead of the L2PLAY NOOB! pilots I've seen out and about recently.

I was really just commenting on the sheer number of LRM's that I'm seeing flying around in a match. Its insane to see 6+ waves of LRMs flying through the sky from both teams over and over again. To me it detracts from the strategy and "fun" of mechwarrior to have so much "artillery" flying around. But thats just an opinion, I'm sure some people find LRM wars to be a lot of fun.

My main issue with LRM's hasn't been "they are op and kill me and need to be nerfed". I just think the amount of Mechs capable of launching massive waves of LRM's is a little much atm.

Nope! 75% is free.

Try it.

Besides, LRMs far outclass every other weapon in the game, no reason not to.

We're currently experiencing a wonderful combination of no trial mechs having AMS, three of the four trial mechs having LRMs, and the current netcode making direct fire weapons a little bit unpredictable.

Depends on what mech classes your team drops with - you'll get the same classes dropped against you. People love to pilot LRM Atlai and LRM Cats, and the Trial Awesome (the better of the four trials) is an LRM boat, more or less. That being said, it also bears noting that any mech with a missile hardpoint (or three) can strap an LRM on and join the fray. A valid tactic is to put at least an LRM 5 or 10 on every mech in a team so that LRM blankets can be at least marginally in-effect regardless of positioning or mech weight class.

It's LRM galore since 3 out of the 4 trial mechs have LRMs!

Don't use LRM's since it isn't direct fire. They can be avoided or a Mech can purchase AMS. Direct fire does damage, each and every time. I love hunting LRM boats in my jenner, easy meals
