Just give players like 30 seconds to decide if they want to stay with a group, that way PUGs can slowly form their own persistent teams, and/or eliminate/weed out AFKs. That way PUGs can become closer to skill to Pre-Mades over the course of a gaming session even if a person enters Auto-Match solo.

Yup, great idea. If you look at a game like TF2, each round ends, another begins, players stay in that server as long as they please. If it was similar to that, but only on a team basis, it would be great.

This Sir is an awesome idea that wins the day in my oppinion.

Just imagine: You logg into a Team, you have a handfull of friendly guys there, that happen to use their keyboard to write and speak. After the match you can stay with them for another one, and another one....and so on.

That way, by the end of the day you have not only met new people from around the world, you have made friends you will meet again to play with.

All this without needing to join a community on a TS server...

Bloodline champions has been doing this for a long time... it works really really well.

You meet two other people you get on with and like / play well with you can continue playing with them > add to friend > build community > profit!!!

In MWO if 5 people want to "stay" and 3 people "leave" they can pick up 3 more PUGs from the queue surely?

Sounds decent. Then you become the "pre-made" that everyone cries about.
Ironic no ? But i guess that's how most people see it.

good idea.

As a little extra, i would like to add/invite people ingame or at least in the endgame screen. Its hard to note all the 1337 names :)

Or give us servers with a server browser, like a proper PC multiplayer game should have standard. I can't express how much I detest randomized match making. I remember Joining games of random strangers in SOCOM: US Navy Seals (my first real online shooter), wind up playing with the same group of people for hours. Even join clan rooms where the other team was a clan pre-made but it was still fun as hell since you actually got to know the people you were playing with. Sadly this mystical technology has been lost to the mysts of time.. It's a shame when a console game from a decade ago has a better MP set up then most games today..

I tune in with the consensus of this thread: this idea is great, and can (temporaly) replace an ingame-lobby.

I know I'm sure to get flamed for this but ...

Yes the social UI is ... clunky ... to be kind, but really is it THAT hard to jot down someone's name at the end of the match, send them a friend invite, then form a group?

No it's not as good as a "invite everyone from the last match to a group" button (and if you think about that, there's a bit of UI and logic involved to make that work; what if I don't want to play with the last set of randoms and someone else pushed it?) ... but it exists now, and anyone can do it.

Two nights ago myself and two other friends were playing on TS3 (Yes, a dreaded "pre-made" ... all 3 of us). One of the PUGers who got thrown in with us one match actually knew what he was doing; played with the team, didn't rambo off, got kills and assists. We sent him an in-game friend request and asked if he wanted to join our group. He did, and played the next hour or two with us. Again - he wasn't on TS3 ... just knew how to play the game and his role. We used the text chat and in-game social chat to talk to him.

I think this would be a good feature to add along with a pre/post game lobby.
