hi timbuktu

try installing DirectX 9.0c

http://www.microsoft...spx?q=dx%209.0c

if the runtime don´t get installed use the redistributable version.

search for update with windows updater after that.

When you say you can not install dx 9c, exactly what is happening?

i think the dx installer stopped installing because dx11 is installed (newer version bla bla) this happend with the downloaded dx 9.0c installer. the redistributable or the web installer should work..and u should do a windows update after the installation pls.

Spoiler

Yesterday I did a clean install of Widows 8 and installed all updates via windows. After this I installed MWO and it would not launch due to the xinput1_3.dll file is missing error. I downloaded and installed http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35 as recommended above and and it runs perfect.

I solved this error by re-installing Direct X 11. I re-installed video card drivers first, and Direct X 11 over those. That fixed it for me.

(Windows 8 here)

I get the xinput1_3.dll file is missing error after installing win 8 as well but when I tried doing the http://www.microsoft...tion.aspx?id=35 fix like everyone else I get this when trying to install DX " an internal system error occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in you windows folder to determine problem." the DirectX.log shows "02/17/13 15:22:42: infinst: Installing C:\Users\"my user name"\AppData\Local\Temp\DXD0A8.tmp\d3dx9_24_x64.inf [DefaultInstall]
02/17/13 15:22:43: infinst: Installed file C:\Windows\system32\d3dx9_24.dll" someone please help.

i had this error, went to check if the dll is where it should be... (C://Windows/System32) and the file sure enough . . . WAS there, easy fix for windows 7 users is copy the file. go to where MWO is installed (C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32) and paste. fixes the problem right up
