By far the single most important quirk for running LRMs, MRMs, and Thunderbolt Missiles on an inner sphere mech is velocity. This is critical for LRMs/Thunderbolts because their velocity is so low, and a large velocity boost for MRMs will do more for hits scored than any amount of spread quirks. A velocity boost above 20% is a game changer, hyper quirked if you will.

There are a lot of good mechs out there with 15 or 20 percent velocity boosts, but we'll be focusing just on mechs that have 25% or more.

So here's a laundry list of Inner Sphere mechs that have 25% velocity boosts or more that can be applied to LRMs, MRMs, and Thunderbolts. Don't forget to tack on the skill points to add a few percent more!

Flea R5000 --- 30% missile velocity | 2 missile hardpoints
Locust 3S --- 25% all velocity | 4 missile hardpoints
Locust 1M --- 50% missile velocity | 2 missile hardpoints, plus massive cooldown and ammo quirks
Osiris 1V ----- 35% missile velocity | 3 missile hardpoints, 20% cooldown, ammo quirks
Osiris 3D ----- 50% missile velocity | 1 missile hardpoint, plus big cooldown and ERSL range

Bushwacker X1 -- 50% all velocity | 3 missile hardpoints
Centurion A ------- 25% all velocity | 3 missile hardpoints
Kintaro GB ----- 30% all velocity | 5 missile hardpoints
Vindicator 1AA ---- 30% all velocity | 1 missile hardpoint.

Dragon 1G ------- 30% all velocity | 2 missile hardpoints, CT only, 2 crit space limit
Orion 1K ---------- 25% all velocity | 2 missile hardpoints
Warhammer 7S - 40% all velocity | 3 missile hardpoints

Battlemaster 3S ---- 30% missile velocity | 2 missile hardpoints
Highlander 732B ---- 25% all velocity | 2 missile hardpoints
Highlander 733 ----- 25% all velocity | 4 missile hardpoints
King Crab 000 ----- 40% all velocity | 2 missile hardpoints
Marauder II Alpha - 25% all velocity | 2 missile hardpoints

Again, this is not to say there aren't other great mechs out there, this is just the list that is super-quirked for missile velocity. And some of the ones on this list (Dragon, King Crab) are going to be too busy running other weapons to mess with missiles in a meaningful way, but velocity still counts!

For our clan friends, the list of hyper quirks to be used on LRMs and ATMs is smaller, but it exists!

Cougar Prime --- 25% all velocity (set of 8) | 2 missile hardpoints
Cougar D -------- 25% missile velocity (set of 8) | 2 missile hardpoints
Incubus Sabre -- 25% all velocity | 3 missile hardpoints

Timberwolf Prime -- 25% missile velocity (set of 8) | 2 missile hardpoints
Timberwolf Howl --- 40% velocity boost to ATMs | 4 missile hardpoints

Executioner Cherbi - 35% missile velocity (set of 8) | 2 missile hardpoints
Gargoyle Prime ------ 30% all velocity | 2 missile hardpoints
Gargoyle E ------------ 35% missile velocity (set of 8) | 2 missile hardpoints

Umm the Howl is a battlemech so that's not a set of 8 quirk. you cannot take any of the parts off like the Omni it was based on. Timberwolf Prime.

Copy/paste/edit error. I skipped the "edit" part on that line. Corrected, thanks for double checking me!

And a fresh friendly reminder... LRM velocity is being reduced this next patch for non-Artemis launchers. You'll want these high velocity quirks more than ever now!!!

Updated again for the March patch. We added a Flea, a Kintaro, a Vindicator, a Battlemaster, and a couple Highlanders.

yeah the Cauldron seem intent on nerfing LRM into the ground. Thunderbolts did get a boost to their velocity in this latest patch (April, 2024) so that helps. though they do seem to be doing some things that help locking weapons in a round about way.

even as an old time MWO player i appreciate the effort you put into that list. very helpful. (hell i might pick up a Golden Boy at some point, never really looked at the Kintaros much)

I picked one up from a hero mech event once, never really used it until now. Its really performing for me with this build:
