So since the patch there are definately some things that need addressing. My Clan and I have discovered that the new easy button is the following 4 man team.

1 Light + tag
3 Atlas DDC with Artemis upgrades and 3x LRM 15

We have gone so far 10 matches with almost all 10 being sweeps. I.E. 8-0

FYI LRM damage is now bugged and RARELY registers at the scorecard.

PGI hope you KNOW you really did make LRM's OP this time!

P.S. I have never said anything is OP until now.

So far I would say LRM are OP.

I love when people post their scorecards as proof of something.

I'm not saying your wrong, I haven't even played the new patch yet.

I've just seen so many scorecards posted as proof of something, when it leaves out so much information that it really means nothing.

"Look at me, I got 6 kills with my 4 PPC atlas I'll post my scorecard of the game as proof that PPCs are OP".

*edit*

P.s. I've gotten 1500 damage in my LRM atlas before artemis. Playing with a smart team that knows how to spot helps a lot.

New patch has made LRMs severely overpowered.
Ridiculous firing arc on LRMs mean that most cover is useless.
Just have a single light keeping LoS & your missiles will rain down from orbit.

Along with that. tighter spread with Artemis means missiles do more damage on a target.

So of course .. LETS all use them! Yay! ..

No more pesky need to learn how to pilot, or aim ... hell, engines are for newbs!!!!. Just send some other dork light mech loser out to target stuff for us (and yell at them for not holding lock long enough after they died) so we can press a button and melt faces!

/end_insanity

Dammit people!! Why do so many gamers refuse to compete with honor and dignity??? Is the world really filled with nothing but Tonya Harding (circa 1994) type competitors?

LRMs are like the stick that whacked Kerrigan's knee...

Don't use the stick...

I noticed tonight that LRM's were going over buildings then coming straight down on the target.
Sucking up to a building no longer = survival.

It will be hilarious when ECM comes out....most likely in conjunction with some sort of LRM nerf and all those who run only LRM boats will actually have to learn how to play the game and not just scream at spotters to press R when they fight something.

Well if it' worth anything that screenshot is from one of my Clanmates who is running 3x LRM 15 + Artemis (this I can attest to) when he got that damage.

This applies when you have Artimis fitted. They are expensive to fit and run, but you generally still make a profit of about 100k a game.

According to what I'm reading I will probably agree. I was just commenting on the scorecard thing.

Honestly they could have picked to either A ) tighten the spread or B ) increase the arc and it would have made artemis worth it. If they really did both...

Lights make horrible LRM spotters btw.

Not really Lag Shield + Smaller Head Hitbox + OP LRM means that our light was actually making the most money per match and never died.

Well, here is the thing. Prior to this patch I played both LRM and brawlers primarily, and was getting anywhere from 600-1000 in a brawler. So I can play either pretty well. I got over 1600 in an LRM before this patch.

I can play ANY mech pretty good, but that comes from playing the game for months in all mechs with all manner of builds.

So when ECM comes out, or when LRM get nerfed (hopefully), it will make little difference to me. Whatever mech I use I'll do well in.

Of course today being patch day, I had to try out the new Artimis system. The screenshot was a lucky catch as damage doesn't always register, but I think it serves its purpose. That screenshot is by no means unusual for the games I played tonight, in fact I'd say it was pretty typical.

And there was 3 of us teamed in that game, Taelon was in his brawler at the time (I think or he may have been in an LRM without Artimis), and Azrell had literally just joined the guild and was in maybe his 3rd game with us showing him the ropes...

It's"Tonya" not "Tanya".

I have been running an LRM boat for the past few days
I have rained down plenty of death on those that dont know how to play...
those that did know how to play avoided getting target locks and moved in to kill me
Ive been taken out several times as well as the other LRM boat on the team by a group that communicates and plays well together
They arent OP, you just have to work
