My advice would be to look where you are going more carefully, try not to fall too far, maybe cushion landings with Jump Jets and even put a few more armour points into legs.
Seeing mechs running off cliffs and falling and taking no damage made no sense anyway.

I will "fall" from tiny, tiny surfaces and take leg damage in my Cicada. I'm referring to the small rocks that any mech can walk over with ease on maps like Forest Colony.
The people I have played with have said they haven't encountered this in their larger mechs, but my Cicada is taking massive leg damage from just running around with the stock XL 320 engine on some maps.
That, combined with the fact that I don't seem to be taking any kind of cockpit shake or effects when getting LRM'd, it's really difficult to play in the Cicada at the moment.

Hopefully the developers will acknowledge this, because it would be ridiculous if the current state of terrain damage was the intended state.

EDIT: That is, upgraded shock absorbers once they fix the bug, so mechs can fall from greater heights without taking damage. Hmm, I really should put this in suggestions.

So a Cicada or Jenner dropping off a small ledge notices the two points of damage taken to their legs more more than an Atlas or Dragon taking the same drop. It shouldn't be this way. The Heavy or Assault mechs should definitely take severe damage from falling while Lights and Mediums should be able to handle decent falls or at least a height from their own jump jets if only because they have so much less kinetic energy to dissipate while more flexible in doing so as 'chicken walkers'.
tl;dr: Light and Medium mechs are probably taking the same fall damage as heavies and really feeling it. Fall damage should instead scale severely with weight even more rapidly than height.

I Noticed today that my mech critical damage while walking.
I think it's safe to say it was a bug.

On Caustic map i ran on my Jenner in the direction of central crater. Indicator show me that my leg are damaged while i lift up. I did not fall- it was a gentle lift area. But my legs get damage. I did not use jump jets.

Without collisions, which we know you will bring back, Jenner is pretty OP and with the LRM issues being OP, dropping with 3 LRM boats and one very good Jenner seems to be the best 4 man group that can basically kill the whole other team.
I am sure you will bring LRMs back to something manageable, but please look at the fall damage amount and distance and perhaps bump it half way back to where you had it before this patch. I have gotten a leg to internal orange with fall damage, and yes some was surely LRM damage, but still please monitor this. If you can track the scouts and how much damage they collect in a game of fall damage, I am certain you will see a huge spike compared to before the patch.
Thanks for listening!
