Strictly an Urban zone with buildings, buildings, buildings and more buildings. Might be a park in there somewhere that has greenery, but otherwise, Glass, steel and stone as far as the eye can see, but it has seen lots of fighting; burnt out structures, holes in buildings, fires... the usual. Throw in a couple underground parking structures mechs can walk through and you'd have it, an Urban mech playground. Basically a place where range is usually in that 300 meters or less area and speedy mechs gotta stay on their toes or fall on their face from running into buildings too fast or miss calculating a turn... They would still be very deadly, just have to go at a slower pace than normal or risk breaching from a fall, heck make the whole place 3-5 teirs high, if you feel you absolutely have to give those 400 m+ weapons some use.

That would be interesting and actually encourage the use of jump jets.

One of my thoughts exactly. Can't fire your Long range weapons if you are surrounded by buildings, so you gotta get above them and make yourself a target to get better target choices.

With everyone's love of ECM these days, this is even more of a challenge since no one could see you slip up behind them and core them, not like it is now not saying that you can't, but it would just be easier. Likewise, since this once was an Urban area, there coiuld still be sections where nothing, meaning; Comms, target, scanners, and even ECM just doesn't work, a LOS only area. Parking garage, Subway tunnel, area with large antane arrays, etc.

This is not a speedy mechs friend through, no long stretches of road in one direction, lots of twists, turns. Where speed is life, as a fellow pilot is fond of saying, this woud NOT be a map that affirms that. Granted this map would be best served as Assault Only, it could incorporate the Conquest in areas of LOS only- Be sure to check out the Zoo while in Massive Park- well massive is only a relative term for the size of the people in it, not the Mechs. So, yeah NY with European styled streets would not be too far off and the smoldering buildings of bombardment.

The perfect place for Theta would be out in the middle of the park with ABSOLUTELY NO COVER, the other 4 would be in Brawler zones where it's face to face and no targetting.

I envision this with a LARGE underground system of tranisit tunnles with dusty/damaged traincars- where nightvision or heat could be used even on a day map.
Street Surface is bombed out flaming skyscraper after devistated flaming skyscraper with NO SIGHT LINES over 100m, except, MAYBE through a hole in a marginally trashed skyscraper- Scrapper/Brawler paradise.
Finally the Highrise Heliports with some damaged air vehicles, but also the best sightlines over 100m; only problem is, your completely exposed without any cover. Getting here is only for those with Jump jets.

Only other place where sightlines would be 'better' is the Huge park, which is only about four Assaults wide and six deep, but has absolutely NO COVER!
If I could figure out how to put in some imagry I would, so you could get a better idea of ththis idea.

Buildings taller than the tallest mechs, no straight LOS channels for long range weapons to use- all curvy roads, holes in buildings to exploit for long range shots- if they line up. Brawler heaven.
