Mwo should stray from this in my opinion it will make the game not fun, and many mwo fans will drop this game like a rock just to show how much we Don't want it!

For new players make an actual training sim like MW4 had, even world of tanks had a built in tutorial for new players when they got into the game. If they don't grasp the concept, they will have to learn the hard way like some people did when they played Mechwarrior for the first time.

Please vote and leave your thoughts on this for the devs!!

This is my idea:

I'm no expert at this game, but I would hate to see this implemented. It seems to cater to folks that want to take shortcuts and not improve thier skills.

A firm No, Sir or Madam! It would just provide naps with a wider angle of sight, thus negating the view restrictions caused by the designs of mechs. But what we do need is a camera view in the cockpit to monitor our rear. As far as I know, the HUD in BT was supposed to create a 360° view compressed to 180°. Since this ist very hard to implement and probably not desirable in terms of gameplay, I suggest we get a rear view mirror cam of sorts. Far as I recall, MW2 has had that functionale and they even provided it in later iterations of MW4 - Mercs and BK (not a reference game, I know, but it worked well for those not wishing to go 3d person).

They should never implement something as 'arcade' as this in a sim-franchise/game such as BT/MWO is/wants to be

3rd Person View ?

Never.

It´s just not needed, at least if this game is to keep it´s "sim" flavour.
If PGI wants to swerve towards easy-mode consolegames, go ahead and implement noob-fiendly, unneeded stuff as 3rd person view.

My opinion is : cut out this unneeded talk of 3rd-person shenanigans and go for some better netcode and reinstalling of mech-toppling physics instead

Yeah this has been re-polled, re-debated, and resurrected countless times usually by people who think they can call up a bunch of support for their 3rd person twitch shooter arcade yeehaw lameness. The answer is still no. The game is about being a pilot -in- a mech. Its not about being a mech avatar you watch from behind.

Here's a CHEAPER alternative to spending time and resources on adding 3rd person view:

Set an option to lock foot direction to torso twist.

If the problem is that people refuse to look at their hud and see the LONG *** line showing their torso is facing 90 degrees from the direction of their legs, or they refuse to press the convenient C button, or they refuse to check on the direction arror in the mini map that shows the direction their legs are facing vs the high lighted view field, well, then obviously no amount of 3rd person view, or any other type of hand holding will do them any good.

Instead, just give the players the option to "lock" legs and torso.

They had this feature in MW4 Merc's it was called "auto center torso". Once you turned it on your legs would auto correct to the torso when your torso twisted. The draw back was slower turning rate, but you could also turn it off whenever you wanted.

I voted Yes
It's going to be a setting, in matchmaking.

If you toggle it on you will play against people who also use 3rd person settings.
If you leave it off you will only play against people forced into first person view.

Since most of us are hardcore Sim players it won't matter if they put in 3rd person because we will never play against them!

If it helps bring in new people it the game then so be it! Eventually they will switch over to first if they want the real tactical gameplay and I'm sure official MWO tournaments will force the First Person Perspective. Everyone needs to chill and not worry to much about it.
